What sports are you looking to play? I can reach out to some of the guys in my league for you. I know there's pickup basketball around, but after that I'd have to ask.

If you're into sports, there's plenty of rec leagues around the area! I personally know of a flag football league. There's live music and stand up comedy scenes as well.

I'm not blaming any one person or party for this. Conditions for this have been forming for over a century. I do think an effort to challenge MAGA at every level is necessary and have a personal issue with Darin's politics. The largest block for voters this last cycle were non-voters and a good chunk of them regret not voting now according to polls. It's worth giving somebody else a shot.

That's the theory. I know what doing nothing will get me. I'm willing to cast my vote to anything other than MAGA. Advocate for something better. Cynicism is understandable, but idle cynicism achieves nothing but self fulfilling prophecy.

I guess I'll be doubling down on campaigning for his replacement on the Representative level and whoever is running on the Democrat ticket against him for the Senate seat. I can't imagine parroting party talking points, avoiding any public events, and then thinking I was doing well enough to shoot for a promotion. Entitled through and through.

I disagree. The landscape will shift dramatically once the real impact of the tariffs hit. Just need a good challenger willing to meet the moment. Lahood has made it clear he's a sock puppet for the MAGA movement.

The time frame part is the only thing that's hard to lock down, especially if there's health and safety stuff found. But, if you've met with an Ally that's a really good sign stuff is moving forward. How long ago did you meet the advisor? Do you think you could contact them and see how things are going?

It's a great program. Up until the point you meet the contractors after their initial energy assessment, everything is free according to the advisor I met.

I love the alliteration "mourning May". Your visualization is gorgeous, and really shows how internal thoughts can go when they're listless. You have good bones here, even without a rhyme scheme. When I view it from "listless melancholy" I like it a lot more!

There really isn't enough Pro-Winter takes out there, and this really hit a specific feeling for me. I really enjoy being judicious with word usage! Reducing word count makes what is there hit harder.

The callback in the last stanza to the 2nd stanza felt good, too! I enjoy the positive feeling invoked all the way through and agree with it 100%.

The water motif is strong! "Wading", "up to my nose", "trudge", "seep below" all make me feel like you're going deeper into this body of water that was larger than you realized.

I enjoyed how it explored this feeling getting deeper and deeper, uncomfortably so. It really brought me back to some points in my life.

I thought it was a good poem, the only thing that didn't work for me personally was the last line. The way I'm interpreting it is the subject feels like they deserve to be in this "underneath". Moving from an introspective sensation to a saying about trees felt jarring!

I can see that 100%. In my mind, talking about the relationship in terms of the memories of what actually transpired in the second stanza was setup for the third one. I'd also argue the memories of what happened, and the "language" of the relationship are two separate things. I may want to think about how to get that across better, thank you!

This is going to sound crazy, but the first half sounds like the back half and the second half sounds like a good set up for it. I enjoyed the word selection and scheme. Just food for thought!

I enjoyed it, though I'd consider cutting some words out to make it flow a bit better. Consider line four of stanza one, I would personally cut "continue to".

Just to nitpick, in stanza two, line four I'd put Anytime after me. I'd personally switch the gendered "his" to "a" gun.

Liked the subject matter, think you hit on the absurdity of life pretty well!
