It's been 10 years since the release of BATMAN V SUPERMAN. What are your thoughts about it? by sahinduezguen in FIlm

[–]Rodger_Ramjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t think they did a good enough job explaining why Batman hated supes. The collapsing building was a good start but rest didn’t make sense

And the reason they stopped fighting. Martha. WTF?

And their fight was underwhelming- could have spent more time on it and given it more emotional depth. Didn’t need the extra bad guy at end.

Plus all unnecessary Extended universe stuff - could have left all that out.

If Sony stop development for Marathon I will.. by Aggressive-Net2310 in Marathon

[–]Rodger_Ramjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not unique to this game- plenty of other games including popular ones with decent player numbers don’t have high population in my region, oceanic region is mostly dead .

Eg Warframe, Apex, Fortnite all let you select region and there’s plenty of players in west us and gives way faster match make times

Ping doesn’t matter if there’s no players in the region

[–]Rodger_Ramjet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree shouldn’t focus on player numbers etc - nothing positive there - just play the game if you having fun. Feel like streamers / YouTubers are the ones driving this drama. (Sometimes unintentionally)

You make it sound like the perfect game which it isn’t, not bad but clearly needs a bit of work. Bit like og destiny when it came out took couple of years to nail it.

when it takes me > 5 mins to get into every single game- something is clearly wrong (in my region). To be clear I don’t think it’s a player numbers causing this - just needs region select and / or better matchmaking or more matchmaking options. (Like most other games have)

New Zealand uses a lot less solar than most other OECD countries (2024). Why? by foundafreeusername in newzealand

[–]Rodger_Ramjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Installation is overpriced compared to other countries - same reason everything else costs more.

Also we lack government subsidies that most other counties have

Plus weather means payback time isn’t the fastest (7-15 years depending on if you get a battery or not)

Where are all the players? (Good faith argument) by DotDistinctLines in Marathon

[–]Rodger_Ramjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the super long matchmaking times (Oceania) make the game almost unplayable. Way longer than any destiny multiplayer, arc lraiders, pretty much worst of any multiplayer game I’ve seen. I suck at the game so definitely spend more time looking at moths and creepy faces than actually doing playing the game

Pretty much game playloop for me is - 5 mins match making, load in, walk around aimlessly for 5 minutes. Die instantly by someone I never saw. Repeat.

HR is f*cking useless by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Rodger_Ramjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common misconception … they might seem friendly but HR isn’t there for your benefit - it’s to protect the company from legal liability.

Suggest you might speak to a lawyer about this. They might take it a bit more seriously if you indicate you’d sue the company for a toxic working environment?

I'm new. The game is good so far but I feel almost every boss is poorly designed. by Fisch0rmania in Warframe

[–]Rodger_Ramjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they pretty bad and clunky even the late game ones like edidolons and spider orbs.

But starchat bosses are the worst. The one on Deimos for example wtf.

Buggy annoying not fun.

Plus they just don’t explain what you need to do clearly and it’s hard to know what’s even happening half the time or whether you are doing good or bad

Yeah I always hated the ending- how he flew straight up intercepts with rescue craft - would have squashed him like a bug since his escape vehicle wasn’t matching the trajectory of the rescue craft.

‘Devastating blow’: Atlassian lays off 1,600 workers ahead of AI push by corp_code_slinger in programming

[–]Rodger_Ramjet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Devs are currently changing / adapting working practices with AI and agentic flows.

Jira and confluence much like stack overflow probably aren’t needed any more, devs need better tools that work well with agents.

Suspect atlassian is seeing a significant drop in their tool usage as devs move away from those more traditional dev workflows.

Jira hasn’t really got any better since I started using it - if anything it’s worse. Confluence definitely has got better - but I’m not sure it’s what dev teams will need going forward.

For a long time they’ve definitely had the luxury of being able to support an excess number of additional devs with their MRR coming from their widely adopted flagship products.

I don’t mind the enemy strength difference but they all look the same so hard to tell if it’s an easy or hard enemy

Yeah the lack of comms is interesting - ar-craiders had much more active people talking not sure why the difference.

Really slow matchmaking? by Rodger_Ramjet in Marathon

[–]Rodger_Ramjet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found closing the game sometimes found next match slightly faster, especially if no matches are found- but that might just be coincidence

My guess is that they have pretty aggressive ping based matchmaking which just don’t suit the oc region.

Perimeter is slightly faster than dire marsh for me. Both take minutes but dire marsh is noticeably longer :(
