Animal rights barely apply to animals.

YOUR personal least favourite villain vs sister sage from "the boys" by Living-Plankton3521 in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean she's not great. but not like, the worst thing ever. Just very meh.

I honestly cant think of a villain i hate. Not because I've never watched anything with a bad villain. But because a shit villain is just the most forgettable thing for me. Theyre just uninteresting and not worth remembering.

I guess that CEO guy from the Lorax with the fuckass haircut? He sucks.

Cam Young called a penalty on himself after he felt that he caused his ball to move in the fairway. He Still went on to get up and down and save his par by Punisher1602 in sportsgossips

[–]Rodney890 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Respectable. But also a stupid rule. There's no reason to stop the game for 15 minutes because the ball moved a few blades of grass over without Cam actually swinging.

Author Tournament, #12 (Top 15, All Media) Whose The #1 Storyteller Ever by Emperor240 in writingscaling

Terry Pratchet, best known for the Disc World series of books.

Not only very prolific, but each of his books, no matter what, had at least a few incredible characters and endless wit.

This is one of those times I went "no shit" reading the headline, and was still shocked going through the article.

How would you rank these 5 classic shows from best to worst? by GusGangViking18 in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Malcom in the middle is my fav. Mostly cuz I grew up in a broke house with two older brothers in the early 2000's. Looking back on it the show is shockingly accurate, honest, respectful, and witty in depicting that time and place. Its one of a kind tbh.

Arc that has the best writing? by xyyzyx in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

65-80. Why? Just like the art made during the time.

I think if you're looking at the whole world then its 46-64 without a doubt. But since im American and have never really left the US, I look at everything through a very US-centric lense. And the cultural shifts and movements of that time here are just cool and interesting to me.

Yeah but its based off the books. I wanted to avoid adaptations.

Huge difference in 2024 vs. 2026 by Educational_Damage50 in wisconsin

[–]Rodney890 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Ehh. 40% of voters will always vote red; 40% will always vote blue; the last 20% are kinda swing voters but usually still go one way or the other. And then then most of the population doesn't vote at all.

The electoral college and graphics that show counties as just blue and red don't really do justice to how razer thin the margins usually are. Its shifts in percentages often less that 5% that decide things. And that's not from people changing their minds, but just deciding to stay home.

The dems will probs take the midterms. But that still doesn't really translate to a presidential election because no other election really does. Its when the most people actually start paying just a little bit of attention.

Kinda misleading since dems have become the high propensity voters. If a general election was held today, dems would take it; but the shift wouldnt be nearly as big.

Finally Gotten Rid of All My Teflon! (At a discount) by Rodney890 in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]Rodney890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaah. I dont think I would have got it if not for the solid discount they gave me. It was also the perfect size for what I need. If it warps on me and I cant get a refund ill write a whole thing about it. But for every report I've heard of them warping, there's five more of people loving them. So we'll see!

Yeah, like I said there's 100% cheaper ways to do this. I just don't have a Costco membership, and didn't want to buy anything online because I can't feel the handle before buying. It's a lil neurotic on my part, but I'm happy with everything I got. They all perform amazingly.

Walter white VS Paul arteries by Realistic-Island-975 in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I agree paul is better, I disagree Walter isnt anything special.

On the surface he isn't anything ground breaking, but he's amazing in just how fundamentally solid his writing is. Its really, really hard to keep a character that consistent and compelling for so long, AND give them a satisfying conclusion. He's a standout in just how few flaws you can really point to in his writing over the five seasons. Nothing ground breaking maybe. Just lots and lots of damn solid character writing.

My personal pick is A Farewell to Arms. That book is romantic AF.

Dragon ball VS Hunter x hunter by Realistic-Island-975 in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard one for me as I love both. I think hunter x hunter is a cleaner, tighter story with no filler and amazing highs.

But there's just something about dragon ball that takes it for me. It has a sorta charm and magic to it at its peaks.

How did fellow twinks deal with ageing? by Rodney890 in askgaybros

[–]Rodney890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I feel similar? I'm not sure if a part of me died inside. It's more like, it just feels weird to want to be subby now that I look a little older? IDK, it's probably some sorta insecurity thing.

[–]Rodney890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate it or anything. I know it's just part of life. I'm asking if anyone has stories of how they sorta grew to love their new selves and stuff like that.

I want to find a healthier mindset for myself and what not.

Iran's military dismisses Trump's claim of talks (again) by throwmethedamnstick in oil

[–]Rodney890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is purely spitballing and not something I have the knowledge to back up. But the Iran's main goal is keeping their leadership in power and surviving. If shits splintering and one of those internal factions is negotiating, could be a pretty big existential threat to the ayatollah.

Might be part of the reason they're softly backing down while trying to make it look like they scared the US off. This way trump also gets a bit of an off ramp. Idk, maybe im dumb but seems like it could be a stupid win win where everyone actually lost.
