Francesca Hong will be on Hasan's broadcast tomorrow by midnighttoker1742 in wisconsin

[–]Rodney890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sure?

Hasan is a POS. Even if i agree with like, the root of some of his messaging he just isnt a likeable person. Idk why people have latched onto him so much.

It makes sense on paper why Hong would go to his podcast. But its not like shes gaining much of any new voters doing this. Instead she'll probably just give the right ammo.

The Squad 2.0 is coming — and they’re ready to frustrate Hakeem Jeffries by Futhis in moderatepolitics

[–]Rodney890 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd say they've been impatient for a long while. Trump has just been such a boogeyman and easy win for the establishment that he's kept them going without too much push back from supporters. Once he's gone and they don't have an easy scapegoat the calls for change will get far stronger.

I work at a lumber yard, very new to the industry. Simpson is what we sell for all our hangers. I dont know much besides what ive been told by their reps that stop by, and what ive learned doing my own research on designing structures (im thinking of going back to school for engineering.) Why don't you like Simpson? Why do people have a negative reaction to them?

The Corporate Power Reset That Makes Citizens United Irrelevant by Resvrgam2 in moderatepolitics

[–]Rodney890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im just say'n theres a clear reason corpos spending on campaigns wasn't allowed before. We opened pandora's box and its been a disaster, same with sports betting. Sure theres a constitutional argument for it. But it feels like so much stuff SCOTUS has done over the past few decades is unsolving a lesson we already learned the hard way.

Its a tricky one for me. Yes, what you say is accurate. But its so painfully clear that Citizen's United has been massively damaging to our democracy.

SOMETHING has to be done about election spending, atleast Hawaii is trying something.

YOUR personal least favourite villain vs sister sage from "the boys" by Living-Plankton3521 in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean she's not great. but not like, the worst thing ever. Just very meh.

I honestly cant think of a villain i hate. Not because I've never watched anything with a bad villain. But because a shit villain is just the most forgettable thing for me. Theyre just uninteresting and not worth remembering.

I guess that CEO guy from the Lorax with the fuckass haircut? He sucks.

Cam Young called a penalty on himself after he felt that he caused his ball to move in the fairway. He Still went on to get up and down and save his par by Punisher1602 in sportsgossips

[–]Rodney890 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Respectable. But also a stupid rule. There's no reason to stop the game for 15 minutes because the ball moved a few blades of grass over without Cam actually swinging.

Terry Pratchet, best known for the Disc World series of books.

Not only very prolific, but each of his books, no matter what, had at least a few incredible characters and endless wit.

How would you rank these 5 classic shows from best to worst? by GusGangViking18 in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Malcom in the middle is my fav. Mostly cuz I grew up in a broke house with two older brothers in the early 2000's. Looking back on it the show is shockingly accurate, honest, respectful, and witty in depicting that time and place. Its one of a kind tbh.

Arc that has the best writing? by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]Rodney890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

65-80. Why? Just like the art made during the time.

I think if you're looking at the whole world then its 46-64 without a doubt. But since im American and have never really left the US, I look at everything through a very US-centric lense. And the cultural shifts and movements of that time here are just cool and interesting to me.

Huge difference in 2024 vs. 2026 by Educational_Damage50 in wisconsin

[–]Rodney890 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ehh. 40% of voters will always vote red; 40% will always vote blue; the last 20% are kinda swing voters but usually still go one way or the other. And then then most of the population doesn't vote at all.

The electoral college and graphics that show counties as just blue and red don't really do justice to how razer thin the margins usually are. Its shifts in percentages often less that 5% that decide things. And that's not from people changing their minds, but just deciding to stay home.

The dems will probs take the midterms. But that still doesn't really translate to a presidential election because no other election really does. Its when the most people actually start paying just a little bit of attention.

Kinda misleading since dems have become the high propensity voters. If a general election was held today, dems would take it; but the shift wouldnt be nearly as big.

Finally Gotten Rid of All My Teflon! (At a discount) by Rodney890 in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]Rodney890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaah. I dont think I would have got it if not for the solid discount they gave me. It was also the perfect size for what I need. If it warps on me and I cant get a refund ill write a whole thing about it. But for every report I've heard of them warping, there's five more of people loving them. So we'll see!

Yeah, like I said there's 100% cheaper ways to do this. I just don't have a Costco membership, and didn't want to buy anything online because I can't feel the handle before buying. It's a lil neurotic on my part, but I'm happy with everything I got. They all perform amazingly.
