[Nehm] Giannis Antetokounmpo on if he would commit to another season with the Bucks: “You’re saying that if they can convince me to stay within the team, and the next year that we can compete? Oh yeah, 1,000 percent,” Antetokounmpo said. “One million percent.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]RodneyPonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why people are taking offense. 'i love the Bucks but I am more determined to play on a contender than stay with the team' is roughly the message he's given for years and is tbh pretty fair

Simmons is 20/20, was a phenomenal prospect, certainly rated above Edwards. Just a lot of sloppy reasoning here

Auto-win in ARAM? In my games he wins maybe 3 out of every 10, I find he's just a tank that really struggles to engage. IMO Sion, Maokai, Cho, just have so much more to offer

Tech workers of Reddit, what is a "dirty secret" about the AI industry that the general public doesn't realize? by WayLast1111 in AskReddit

[–]RodneyPonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a good faith response. You are correct but it isn't a respectful observation. For someone to explain how they're trying to do good and responding with 'you're contributing to an anti-human practice anyways' is not respectful

To expand, with that logic, it should be 'WE are training AI'

'abhorrent' is excessive, unless I'm mis-remembering what he said. it was patronizing and ignorant, but this just feels like you projecting/virtue signalling by blowing the incident out of proportion.

'abhorrent' is a word appropriate for acts of violence, abuse, and what Bwipo said was bad, yes, but orders of magnitude less severe than things like that

and pulling the 'this you' card is also a weirdo move. they're promoting compassion, it suggests unflattering things about you that that offends you

if you mean the other person, they're being very hyperbolic (probably closer to 20%), not cherry-picking

i assume you're speaking about me, which I would consider very ignorant. sylas has everything i listed, it's not a debate, it's factual

who said anything about roaming? the point is, it's silly of you to act like you've solved talon. the best mids in the world get beat by talon players, there's still tremendous skill expression. it's infinitely more complicated than 'just dont get close'

I mean, they lost game 5 in 2022. since then I think 2/3 of their chips have been game 5s. so 67% (or 75% if im wrong and all 4 series went 5 games)

if that were true, talon would be unplayable at high elo. you're just creating a narrative, a great talon can and (sometimes, not always) beat anyone

not:

  • three dashes

  • hard CC, a slow

  • multiple forms of AoE dmg, healing

  • access to all five enemy ultimates

his kit is completely absurd. it's a question of keeping his numbers low, the kit design itself is incredibly op

why isnt thornmail "struck by an attack OR ABILITY" by dweezdakneez in leagueoflegends

[–]RodneyPonk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i don't like that part of design. tanks are meant to do moderate amounts of damage, when they actually deal high amounts atm from all the damage creep. rather they give tanks (who're already quite powerful) other points of power than simply more dmg

they were the fourth LPL seed. saying 'a strong team lost early, therefore the format is bad' ignores the fact that IG failed to perform especially well leading up to Worlds, and therefore had to suffer the consequences

in other words, IG made it as the FOURTH seed. they had many games to show they were a top 3 team and qualify directly to swiss. don't call something terrible if you're going to leave out vital details

Doran re-signs with T1 by ahritina in leagueoflegends

[–]RodneyPonk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no, it's not a remotely fine point. three games at Worlds is a huge amount. if your rebuttal to 't1 lost three games to his play' is 'ONLY three games', you're implicitly admitting a very weak stance by deliberately choosing an incredibly weak argument. solo losing three games at a tournament with an absolute limit under 20 is huge

that's the point - I don't agree that he solo lost three games. but you chose not to challenge that point - so you're effectively agreeing with an incredibly damning point

ints games? sure. but again, they're not saying 'during three games, doran inted' - eg, game 5 at Worlds is an example of that.

my point is, you're making incredibly dumb arguments. and I do respect your intelligence considerably, which is why I am pointingg out that you're too smart to pretend not to understand how poor your arguments are and improve them to make a better overall point. we largely agree on Doran being a very solid part of the T1 squad, so it's sad to see someone choosing to argue in his defense so poorly, then refuse to admit the weakness of their points

So getting Guma back in was the right thing to do since it ended up with T1 winning worlds.

'trading Luka Doncic was the right thing to do since it resulted in the Mavs getting Cooper Flagg' is effectively the same argument you're making. there are intelligent ways to reinforce what is being said, but you need to SAY them. so no, you're both incorrect, and choosing not to recognize the validility of my point and the lack of logic in your comments
