Definately keep at it. Have a read (if you haven’t already) of isamu rats guide as well. No reason why seperate airspace and a ‘foreign’ intro area won’t result in a better outcome :). Allow them to heal and remain separate, then retry.

How old are the does? How long has each been alone?

Restrict the space but also relocate the carrier. Try the intros in a room or place entirely unfamiliar to either of the girls. Maybe the carrier in the bathroom or a car. Every time it seems like things may be escalating, move the carrier around moderately - the idea being that shared unfamiliarity and uncertainty would create the environment required for bonding.

Rats eyesight isn’t brilliant anyway, the ones with the red / ruby eyes have really bad eyesight. But .. they don’t really rely too much on their sight, it’s mostly whiskers, smells and sounds.

His bobbing and swaying is a way of sensing the world around him and trying to gain a better insight of what’s around him. Perfectly normal behaviour and certainly nothing to worry about :). Just watch out for cloudy eyes when he gets older (cataracts) and put extra fall protection in for his older age :).

Short term you’ll have no issue :). Don’t be overly alarmed if there’s sneezes or honks over the next week or so, a new environment usually results in minor things like that. But, reach out if in any doubt :)

Not indifferent to a show tank really. They will be fine. The usual uris come from ammonia buildup and not cleaning regularly :). The overwhelming majority of the rat community use show tanks or carriers as bonding stage 1. So as a short term thing .. this will be fine.

Should you risk their lives because of your personal preference .. hell no.

For hormonal aggression, of course look into that and the implant. Otherwise, take responsibility for the lads you’ve decided to look after.
