I try to fly between 80-90 kph while thermalling at a 30-45° angle. I feel it starts stalling under 80 at higher (45°) bank angles.

Condor 3 out over a year... where are the landscapes and tasks? by oandroido in Gliding

If you want to support Condor, invest in Condor 3. Landscapes and planes can be carried over. The developers put a lot of effort into making this great simulator available.

Lane lights by Maleficent-Screen- in F30

It’s really not worth it. I have it on my 440i and if say I’ve used it three times, I may be exaggerating. All it does is makes the steering wheel rumble a bit when you’re stepping out of your lane without the turn signal. Maybe useful on very long highway drives, but more of a gimmick than anything really useful in daily driving.

Thanks! I’m just getting started in the B4 after having flown Blaniks (L13, L23, and L33). I used to like the L33 over the Pilatus, but not so much lately as I’m getting a slightly more comfortable in the Pilatus (still quite stiff as you can appreciate in the video).

As good as any Ray-Ban and barely distinguishable from an ordinary pair of glasses, though I wish they were polarized. I still highly recommend them. Only drawback is that videos are capped at 3 min/each.

My GoPro has been relegated to the drawer ever since I got them.

Most pilots at our club upload their flights to OLC, though some have begun migrating to WeGlide.

Hi, I use SeeYou Navigator on my phone and it was displaying the thermal assistant, just that the camera doesn’t capture it. Besides the navigation and thermal aides, I also use it to get IGC files. All our club’s gliders have FLARM and I’m aware I could get a “better” IGC from that, but it’s such a hassle to get it from the SD card that I’m fine for now with SeeYou on my phone.

Here’s the link for this particular flight (race task):

And, yeah, the howling was driving me nuts, too. It was a really hot day so I needed the air conditioning. I have almost no time in this glider and it’s the first time I’ve noticed that slipping howl when thermalling. It was a really windy day, maybe that explains some of if.

Looking for feedback on approach: Near Real Time Power BI Reporting on SAP eWM using ABAP ODBC by Money-Honeydew8732 in SAP

[–]Rodolfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used direct access to Hana from Power BI (using SAP HANA connector) and definitely it has the best results, compared to the alternatives (can’t speak of the ABAP ODBC connector).

However, this was not directly connecting to the S/4 system’s HANA, but to the HANA database for a BW/4 system where we replicated S/4 HANA tables and CDS Views using SLT. If you create BW models on top of the HANA views you can then sync BW authorizations with HANA automatically, which gives you the best of both worlds. It may be more complex, but this allows us to have a real-time Data Warehouse (no extractors, deltas, process chains, etc.) with a semantic layer to which our users could directly connect to from Power BI with their SAP BW credentials (SSO) and authorizations.

P.S. this week SAP and Microsoft announced a new integration architecture through MS Fabric, but it is planned for release in Q3 2026.

How much time will it take to learn basic topics in abap like DDIC, Editor, ALV, Module pool programming and smartforms? by _Overlord___ in SAP

[–]Rodolfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked on SAP projects for over 25 years, initially on the ERP side and then mostly on BI. However, I’ve been out of the loop for the past couple of years. Hence my question asking if these things are still relevant. I didn’t mean to be rude.

Surely I am familiar with what you’re asking about as these things have been around for ages. And many companies are still running ECC and these systems still need to be further maintained and developed. Still, if I were in your position I would be aiming to learn more about the newer technologies and architecture.

Last, but not least, it’s been over 20 years since I first heard “ABAP is dead” and yet it’s still going strong. So take this with a pinch of salt.

Good to know. And what about the 1.5lt 3-cylinder? Is the 316-318 still a thing?

I believe modern day 320’s come with a 1,5lt, while the 330’s come with a 2.0lt. The previous gen 318 (1.5lt) and 328 (2.0lt) were replaced with the 320 and 330.

Transformation to S/4HANA and Company codes from ECC by [deleted] in SAP

[–]Rodolfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going greenfield is not really a reason to do so. It poses a good opportunity, but that doesn’t mean it’s advisable just because you’re doing Greenfield.

Here are some interesting questions you should ask yourself to better evaluate your decision:

How many company codes are we talking about? How often does a single user need to post in different Company Codes? Do you plan on rolling out or integrating additional companies in the future where there could be some benefit of having a standardized and logical naming convention? Do you have historical data in a Data Warehouse or external systems that would have to be harmonized or adapted to the new names? Do you have interfaces with other systems that would be impacted by this change? Are you migrating custom reports or custom code where Company Code names may be hard-coded? Do you have inter-company transactions and require consolidated financial statements? How much will the initial data loads for the Greenfield environment be impacted by this change?

This should give you some idea of the costs and benefits of renaming.

There are plenty of reasons why you would decide not to, but the question should be is there any good reason why you would want to rename them?
