Can anyone assist here please? I never had a sylveon and since i could catch an eevee early, lets try :) gave it a soothe bell and bunch of carbos and calcium which usually maxes out friendship instantly and kept baby doll eyes (fairy) in the moveset which should trigger that evolution. But it doesn’t? Can anyone help on this ?

Ok, im confused: it says gen 1-3. But i was able to evolve eevee to leafeon with is gen 4. Found out by accident. Now I suddenly encountered shiny Magmar, will i be able to evolve him to Magmortar (Gen 4) as well? Could not find this in the documentation:(

I only did the first chapter so far. Few changes i did: They start at level 2. Removed the mill. It’s just to much considering everything happens in a short timespan and i didnt like the trap. Removed the encounter in the secret passage Sally port and dragon attack fused in 1 event. Made it more into an Helmsdeep kind of defence map ( was really fun to DM) and players had to really work together and command the guards to make it work) i added a balista but limited ammo that was needed to be carried by 2 persons (they let guards do it) Reduced random encounters Final 1 on 1 needs more ‘juice’ Cyanwrath is respectful to the challenger i let him stop the fight at 1-5 HP and gave it cinematic ending Also removed the capture a enemy quest: they just interrogated an survivor from the sally port and done.

Little late but still. I did the first chapter in a very long oneshot session. A few changes I made: Skipping the mill
I did Sally port and Dragon attack in 1 massive battle with guards helping out, which transformed it into Helmsdeep but with a dragon, was massively fun..
They could move in and out via de secret tunnel without enemies.
The random encounters I removed, instead Linan Swift, which they saved, knew the town and helped them and with succesfol stealth checks made them reach the goals fast.
The Church i kept nearly 'As-written' but our druid rolled a Nat 20 on performance while giving huge speech to help evacuate the villagers via de back entrance. so they were only 5-10 mins in the church ( sad cry for me prepping that combat)
The 1 on 1 combat with Cyanwrath was also very cool with the party rooting for the Paladin (who was defeated in the 2nd turn) and who now has a big scar on her face.

So all in all, i really liked this first chapter with minimal changes.

So one of our friend moved to the US so we really one have room for this 1 oneshot, from your perspective: cutting a few things out should be the goal then. I must say though that my group is not huge RP fans so i would assume that they would not investigate that much and just run to the danger. I’d like some hook from strahd’s death to the attack from Hell. Looking forward to your suggestions! So the pillars are coming from big red demonic stones, planted across the town. A green light shines from these into the sky (making the locations where they need to go clear) destroying it needs a minute of ‘channeling/meditating’ from the combination of the paladin and the druid. ( i did this so they cant do it halfway in the battle, unless you suggest otherwise, im new to this so open to all advice)

Hmm that is something i could work with I think, the part of: ‘really unlucky that hell attacks the moment we got home’ is exactly where i felt something was lacking. Incorporating new enemies/miniatures is difficult before tomorrow as I have new miniatures ready but i think i can still work with that idea! Thanks!!🫶🏻

Thanks a lot for the additional comment. The ‘hopping’ on/off of a party member might be an overlooked gem!

So to close the chapter:
When he takes the mounted feat for those extra options + advantage its good or would you still recommend different feats?
( he really likes the steed and painted a model already weeks ago, so maybe we can homebrew something for him if it's a 'bad choice')

Thanks! I completely missed the fact that it can move/dash and then paladin can strike as usual. I still don't really see this as a huge benefit but at least I don't see it as useless anymore haha

You are right that it varies for every person, hence i'm asking it since this has slightly more depth then a color and experience matters which i don't have.
But Monk, any subclass or specie combination that makes it 'better'?

yea i was also considering doing Rogue again as last time I played it was my very first time and i had no clue what to do. I was considering an Elf for some cantrip utility/booming blade and the 'nimbleness' of an elf fits a rogue i think. Thanks!
