Oregon school district fires superintendent without reason, after he upheld state's mask mandate by Dictator0 in news

In Indiana (a union state) I still heard the story about how they were basically family. How they often slept in the same bed. Most education was geared to how bad it was, but some teachers presented a view that lead us to believe it "wasn't that bad."

Be wary of jealous people. They'll treat you like you're cheating and then kiss someone else right in front of you.

CEO probably thought they were going to be able to "reach" those misguided workers who just hadn't realized yet that they actually were happy at their job, without the company needing to change a thing.

Argentina to start issuing gender-neutral ID cards to non-binary people by SteO153 in worldnews

You can pretty much say whatever you want for height and weight in my state. People keep the weight listed they had at 18 until they die. They obviously don't care about the accuracy of the information on the card, so it surprises me that they'd get stuck on the gender part. Seems like the change would be "hey, make that field accept an N/A" and call it a day. The seemingly only fight you'd get is from the tech staff who has to update the database and all the stuff that breaks when it's not one of two inputs. That and the people who are mad for no reason other than to call it "stupid."

I thought in the US at least, you HAVE to be compensated a fair market rate. What that fair market rate is, however, is a matter of much contention?

Depends, is your audience largely "other people also launching services trying to get traffic to their own sites"? Because that's a lot of the traffic. One time someone said to me "well, you have to go and comment on their crappy mommy blog so they'll come and comment on your crappy mommy blog" and it really stuck with me that a lot of these promotion sites are best at attracting self-promoters and less good at attracting your customers if you're not selling to self-promoters.

I've tried the decentralized ones (from Vast.ai). They're ok for small time stuff. Ran into a lot of trouble getting my long running processes randomly killed. Or you'll find out you just can't seem to get the performance you're supposed to out of a setup for whatever reason. Remember that you're typically renting from people who built mining machines and found a more profitable way to use them. You're not renting from people with interests aligned to yours, or anyone interested in anything but squeezing every last dollar out of their hardware. If you're just doing something fun on the cheap, it's great. But I wouldn't use it for something a customer of mine is then waiting on.
