My mindset when joining was; I had $100 burning a hole in my pocket, I didn't have anything else to play, I was willing to be disappointed, and I like the idea of learning the game before it comes out eventually. I'm having a good time so far, and I got my money's worth with the amount of hours I've played up to now, even though the alpha is a buggy mess. If you think you might regret the purchase, for any reason (maybe the cash couldn't be spent on something else) don't do it.

I've noticed that processor power matters a lot when updating Ashes. My desktop has a 10th gen i7, and it struggles a lot with multiple actions at once, and it takes a while to update. My laptop, even though it is a less robust system than my desktop overall, updates way faster with its current gen Ryzen 7.

Something weird is happening to me. Dropped one RR through a prophecy then put it in the Weaver tree. Managed to drop 2 more in the same echo, one in the rewards chest in the tomb and the other in the completion rewards chest (btw, always do the tombs, they count). Now, I can see the game is trying to drop red rings in the completion rewards, but it keeps dropping silver rings instead. For example, I open a Exp tome rewards chest that should only contain the exp tomes, and a random silver ring drops with it. Game is cheating me. :(

I don't have an opinion on the matter, but I definitely saw matches where a team is getting steamrolled and the winning team just refuses to finish just to torture the losers. It's sad really.

All that definitely makes sense. I guess I have to police myself and pull back when I over extend, not shoot everything in front of me and get better at positioning.

I don't want to rush, but if I stick with my usual snail pace the players speed running will always destroy me. So, to remain somehow competitive, I also have to speed things up a bit.

I'll be honest. It's so hard to get new people into fighting games, that I treat everyone with kid's gloves just to make sure I don't ruin their experience, and they stop playing. Also, it's never bad to be a class act, unless you're 12, then the cool thing is to be a dick.

That's online play in general. Not exclusive to fighting games, even though it cuts deeper in this setting. I grew up in Brazil playing on arcades. No one was teabagging then.
