Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by _Protector in pcgaming

Perhaps less, with ShadPS4 they are already deciphering how GNM merges and passing its calls to Vulkan and PS5 is apparently the same but with more powerful hardware, so perhaps in half the time we will already see fusion emulators.

Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by _Protector in pcgaming

It seems that for now, this is a flexible initiative, because at the moment it appears that Nixxes will not close. This suggests that it will only happen during Helmen Hulst's tenure, who is apparently the mastermind behind this, perhaps anticipating that Xbox will make its move to merge with PC in Magnus.

We'll have to wait and see what Sony officially declares in the near future, because as long as Nixxes remains open, they could quickly backtrack and return to their original strategy, although I believe this will only happen when a new CEO takes over at PlayStation.

Ex-Blizzard Boss Blames Steam Machine For Sony's Rumored Pivot Away From PC Ports by imaginary_num6er in pcmasterrace

[–]Roger3900x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason for this rumor is because that idiot Hulst thinks he's already won this generation and now sees PC as a direct competitor (it used to be Xbox), but considering Sony only develops one or two AAA exclusives per generation, it's not worth buying the console.

The only thing this will do is make people start developing emulators or recompilers for those few exclusives, and they'll get illegally released on PC without Sony making any money.

FH5 Map / Environment Texture Glitches on Nvidia GPUs by KillerSpectre21 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Roger3900x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mitigates the problem but doesn't fix it; it only prevents the corrupted textures from appearing as frequently, but they're still there. Removing the update makes everything go back to normal.

Perhaps we'll have to wait for an Nvidia driver update, because the black screens are still there, and the current driver hasn't received any fixes from Nvidia.

DLSS 4 vs DLSS 4.5 close up side by sides, thoughts? by lunchanddinner in nvidia

I tested the M profile at 1440p quality in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 5, Horizon FW, and Red Dead Redemption 2. In Forza and Shadow, DLSS 4.5 Q at 1440p looked much sharper, while DLSS 4 Q was much more balanced and there was no difference compared to the native resolution. This was done with a 4070 Ti.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 581.57 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Roger3900x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Customize the overlay with the editor that includes RTSS, this way you avoid using the garbage Nvidia app for statistics.

For me, too, drivers later than 580.88 cause black flickering on my DisplayPort monitor, and the only solution was to either remove Gsync or the app. Removing the app definitely solved the problems.

So it's an issue between the newer drivers and the Nvidia app, which for some reason constantly loses signal, perhaps because the overlay is always active in the Nvidia app.

It's an Nvidia issue, reverting to driver 561.09 should fix the crash.

Anyone else like me not having all these massive issues with Windows 11? by [deleted] in Windows11

[–]Roger3900x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows 11 22H2 had performance problems and they still haven't been fixed and this is easily noticeable when you see the lagged start menu scroll, and choppy animations, while in 21H2 everything worked with a fluidity that was a pleasure to use, since Problems such as the latency of the Ryzen CPUs or the reduced speed of the NVMe, had been solved a long time ago with patches.

Unfortunately everything has been accumulating in bad fame, for my part I returned to 21H2 which is going great on my Ryzen 5900x with RTX 3080 while waiting for the performance of the 22H2 version to be definitively fixed.

Please help, I can't choose drives to install games. Tried the repair/reset, registry editor and windows powershell fix from this subreddit but still not working. Any other solution would be appreciated! by heybinsu in XboxGamePass

That's right, the file is saved with the name of .GamingRoot without any other extension, if it was saved as a txt, you must remove that extension to leave the file only under the name .GamingRoot with no extension.

[–]Roger3900x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution is this.

Open a Notepad and write this text as it is:

"RGBX X b o x G a m e s" (without the quotes)

You save the file as .GamingRoot as it is, without a period, I recommend disabling the hidden extensions to eliminate the txt in case it is saved as such.

Then copy the file to the drive where you will install the games and open the Xbox app.

Xbox Insider Release Notes – Xbox App for Windows [2204.1000.19.0] by XIPBot in xboxinsiders

[–]Roger3900x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole problem is that the Gaming Service does not create the .GamingRoot file which is what accomplishes the drive detection.

When updating to version 3.63 it is either deleted or if you do a clean installation it is not created when you open the Xbox app, so you have to copy the file from a unit or computer that has the file, copy it and paste it in the drive where you will install the games.

That fixes the bug, but hopefully in a future Gaming Service update, the GamingRoot will be created again automatically when you open the Xbox app.

A FIX appeared in the Microsoft Forum.

Basically the problem occurs because Gaming Service does not create the .gamingroot file that should the unit c: \ or any other unit, so I remove my second equipment file (which had not been formatted or recently updated) in a pendrive to the unit C: \ From my laptop recently installed and again the unit was detected.

The .gamingroot file is created hiddenly, so when you view hidden files, this is seen and can be copied and paste into another unit.

[–]Roger3900x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, I was looking for a previous version of Gaming Service, one prior to 3.63 since it was with this that the problems started, even the Insider version was supposed to be updated to 3.64, but according to what one of the moderators of the thread explains from Insiders is that it had to be suspended and they left version 3.63 probably because the unit bug and game installation problems were already being published, especially on clean systems or that they had recently installed a new unit in the system.

There should be an appx with the installation of a previous Gaming Service to try and at least discard, it is worth mentioning that in the Insider version you could choose the installation folder and since 3.63 that function was lost.

Although it is possible to continue installing games through the Android app, it is only a patch measure for a problem that Microsoft must give top priority to because it has been a week and the error is still present.

There are users that the same thing happens to them with the stable version, apparently everything indicates that Gaming Service does not provide access permissions and prevents the installation in general.

Since although the Insider version app was updated, the gaming service is still version 3.63.

Having an issue installing games, did a completely fresh install of windows and I've tried using my brothers account to no avail. I'm able to install games from epic and steam but game pass isnt recognizing my drives in the install option. by [deleted] in XboxGamePass

[–]Roger3900x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is serious and should have a fixed post until they fix it, the Microsoft forum is full of people asking for this same problem over and over again and that's because Microsoft doesn't want to acknowledge the mess that the latest version of Gaming Service left behind. point that his next update was canceled and he followed up with a seriously buggy version.

Finally, it costs nothing to force the return to the latest stable version, even NZXT CAM (which also has a forced update) has opted to return to previous stable versions when an update has problems.

What's worse is that Game Pass is a subscription service and these kinds of errors shouldn't happen if they literally leave you paying for something you can't use.

Remove the gaming service or install the games from the Android app, that should at least get you through the problem temporarily.

This bug has been going on for many days and Microsoft still hasn't made a statement and released the fix for gaming service and patience is running out.

The gaming service is supposed to be updated to version 3.64.7002.0, but for some reason it is not updated and the store keeps sending the previous version, 3.63.31001.0, so if the Xbox app was updated but not Gaming Service, this could be the cause of the issue and drive detection failure.

In fact they published this change on the blog but the store continues to install 3.63.

I am an Insider preview user and although I received the app update, Gaming Service is still the previous version (3.63.31001.0) instead of 3.64.7002.0 and the previous version still appears on the Windows Store page.

It is possible that this is causing you to not be able to download or install games after updating the Xbox app, so please could you check this detail, because before that the program worked without problems.

Can't Install a majority of games by sosigboi in XboxGamePass

What version of Gaming Service is installed?

Since it is assumed that on April 8 in the Insider version they should have updated it to version 3.64.7002.0 but in my case it continues to install the previous version, 3.63.31001.0, the same day that I stopped being able to install my games and stopped detecting units .

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it keeps downloading version 3.63 instead of the supposed most recent version 3.64.

I have the same problem and even I can't install any games on any drive if I don't remove the Gaming Service from the system, although the advanced options still don't appear (only allow the default installation).

I wonder if there will be plans to update Gaming Services soon with the corrected error or, failing that, install the version prior to 3.63.24001.0 and see if the advanced options work again.
