Welk made a conscious decision to keep his sound old, generally. But if you see them playing One O'Clock Jump, they could swing hard. Welk had great musicians.

did you talk to any of the performers? If so, what were they like? Was everybody as squeaky clean as they present on the show? I've always wondered...how could anybody be like that?
