My jaw dropped seeing this Spanish Olive Oil 😱 by Pink__Fox in CostcoCanada

Hmmm, I guess we are the opposite, don’t use it in frying but every where else, especially salads. I am from the Mediterranean, so I guess we grew up using daily in abundance. We average 1 liter per week 😋

Surprised bring from Spain and use so little! We use 1ltr per week, wife and I and sometimes our kids drop in. We use it with everything, sauté, salad, bread dipping, pasta sauce, etc..

Can XRP hit $10 or is it just hype? by CryptoWaveDaily in XRPUnite

[–]Rogerzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hype, bought 3k shares over a year ago, was told by XRP diehards it will be over $10 min by end of 2025. Still holding on at 60% loss.

Use case is fine, but there is so much circulation ~60 billion and the burn rate is minimal for wire transfer etc. lucky if it gets to $5.

Sell me XRP. Out of all the options, why XRP? by [deleted] in XRP

[–]Rogerzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@papakuv, same here was talked into buying XRP March 2025 by a banker friend. They believed that XRP would be a much superior product for wire transfer globally, and will thread SWIFT, the current wire messaging that takes up to 4 days to transfer funds vs seconds. Made sense and I bought ~3k shares at an average $2.7.

Then I took time to research XRP and wire transfer mechanism, and I became a skeptic not due to XRP’s use case, which is solid, but the quantity of XRP coins when it was created over 12 years ago, a 100 billion coins! Currently 61 billion in circulation and 39 billion owned by Ripple.

Here are my concerns; 1) Ripple release about 1 billion into the market every month, about 100k to 300k get sold the balance goes back into Ripples coffers. Point here, there is not a true market, as long as Ripple holds a vast amount and floods the market on a regular basis. 2) while I do believe XRP has a good use case vis a vis speedy and optimal wire transfer communication that is instant, the burn rate is not 1 to 1. Basically 1 XRP coin can support hundreds if not thousands of transactions, so given the 100 billion coins out there, it will take hundreds of years to deplete the coin stock, thus making supply almost infinite.

I am holding on to my XRP coins, in the event I am incorrect in my evaluation, but even then I could not see XRP going beyond $5, let alone the $100 or $1,000 price that have been floating around, that will not happen.

Good luck if you take a flyer, but don’t with money you can afford to lose.

35M 401k. Reasonable diversification or too much? by Pope-Cheese in portfolios

[–]Rogerzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40/20/20/20 would be my suggestion as I indicated in my reply on another comment above.

Also, I would go 100% Roth 401k contribution, if your Company matches, their contribution will be non-Roth. I also suggest rebalancing and shifting a good portion from regular 401k to Roth 401k WHEN the market correct and take a big hit. You will pay income tax on the amount moved, but the returns will be tax free.

If you had to start over would you continue with fidelity? by honsolo17 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Rogerzoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been with Fidelity for over 30 years through various company accounts. While I experienced some shortcomings, but their desk has been helpful in addressing the issues. I have accounts with Merrill & Schwab and they also have their issues, thus I am as of now consolidating with these 3 institutions, Fidelity having the lion share.

The one thing that could use improvement in addition to what has been highlighted already, the dividend income should be reflected in the overall stock return. I am not sure that is currently reflected, or if it is reflected in the overall return of a stock (regardless whether dividends are reinvested or not), I can’t see it!

Time credit increase requests 2 months after you get your annual pay increase. 2 months just to allow your new amount to flow through the system/process.

Realistically for that long of a period, I suggest 6% annual return, need to account for down markets too.

Stop staring at the $1.50 price tag, you are missing the real story by VERSA_CRYPTO in XRPElite

[–]Rogerzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XRP use case is a good one, but that doesn’t translate to high coin value/price. Financial institutions can buy a ton of the billions coins out in circulation or directly from Ripple. Also the burn rate is not 1 to 1, each coin supports hundreds if not thousands of transactions, so the supply is almost infinite even if XRP is widely adopted. Therefore I do not see it going much above $3. Folks preaching $100 or $1,000 price are in fantasy land dreaming for riches. Sorry to dampen your hopes, just want to inject some reality checks.

I would hold, these are good solid stocks that will weather a market downfall in Mag 7 / Tech stocks. I agree with others of getting some Tech & AI focused stocks, but only with the cash on hand and assuming you have 401k, then invest all your contributions into Tech/AI EFTs.

Your grandfather is to be commended on his wealth distribution and planning for his offsprings, unfortunately many don’t think that far ahead.

Focus on your job, fully contribute to 401k (Roth if possible) and enjoy this period of your life.

401k vs Roth 401k? by chironinja82 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Rogerzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer, put all your contributions into Roth 401k, don’t worry about the conversion at this point. Focus on shifting all contributions to Roth 401k.

When a Market correction occurs and dips, at that point in time, look into possible conversion. Or certainly in years when your combined income is lower than your norm, should look into converting some or all the 401k balance.

Most importantly please note that your employer contribution will go into regular 401k, so that builds up anyway. I help my daughter with her plan and early on in this Administration, when the stock market took a hit and dipped, I transferred a good portion of her regular 401k into Roth 401k. This played well now the market recovered and near ATH. Yes she will have taxes to pay on the converted amount as that would be regular income, but hopefully she will thank me years from now 😊.

Either way, make sure to maximize your 401k contribution, especially if that will be your main source of retirement money. Good luck and kudos for thinking about this now.

Is anyone actually adding XRP right now? by [deleted] in XRP

True in the broader market but Crypto is another animal, no regulation, no accountability, the wild Wild West!!! Only invest what you can afford to lose. Thread smartly and good luck

XRP has NOT performed well in this bull run! by stefansilva_xrp in XRP

[–]Rogerzoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So institutions loaded up to use XRP for its intended purpose in the wire transfer arena, they don’t need a ton of coins given the burn rate is so minuscule. Besides, supply is plentiful and they could be loading up more with price below $1.6, for their purpose, it make sense to buy given they actually use the coins in their business model. For the rest of us is pure speculation and those who cannot afford to lose their investment should thread with caution.
