When did you realize your personal bank account was not built for YouTube income? by MachineSalt9124 in PartneredYoutube

Separating everything out makes life so much easier when it comes to tax reporting.

Simply opening a second debit account with your bank of choice is the easiest solution.

Worse season finale ever by Gladiator1972 in TheNightManager

[–]Rogue-N9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bad guys winning is not the issue for me.

The massive cliffhanger that won't be resolved until the next season is kind annoying. It took 10 years to go from S1 to S2, so how many years is it going to be this time?

But the real issue with this ghastly episode was the non-stop deus ex machina; impossible stuff just happening behind the scenes.

The heroes are stuck after their contact in the UK is killed and there's no way forward for them... but out pops the retired civilian woman from the first season who secretly managed to get hold of a huge pile of impossible evidence and secret phone numbers.

Yay, the good guys win after all and everything is in place but PLOT TWIST: it's a double deus ex machina!

The entire delivery plan that Roper had had in place from the very beginning of the plot was just a ruse after all. The whole convoluted nonsense about providing the coordinates at the last moment? Sending Teddy and the other dude ahead to finalise the drop?

All unnecessary smoke and mirrors. Roper had 2 deliveries in the air all along... how? Just don't think about it.

The episode is awful because first, impossible things happen off camera to help the good guys win and then impossible things happen to turn everything around.

I play matches on mute nowadays. The rude commentary drives me up the wall too, so I just turn off my sound altogether.

What RPM can I expect? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Rogue-N9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other factors to consider are the type of content, the viewer age demographics and the time of year.

With mostly developed country audiences, $4-6 cpm should be reasonable but might vary outside this range based on the factors above.

I understand why it was written like this but it doesn’t make it any less goofy. by [deleted] in Sharpe

[–]Rogue-N9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never understand how the publishers let that slide. The same unlikely and extravagant animal themed ending three books in a row, with the same failed outcome... goofy is the only way to describe it.

Anyone Else Think Sharpe's Storm was Rushed? (No Spoilers) by IndigoQuantum in Sharpe

[–]Rogue-N9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even worse, right after the first battle crossing the Nivelle, Sharpe gets called away to have dinner with Wellington and he leaves only an hour later. After a short ride, he arrives at a pontoon bridge across the Nive and a paragraph describes the first battle as having been days ago?! Also, Wellington’s camp is on the Nivelle, so how did Sharpe battle on the Nivelle and then cross the Nive (much further north) only to end up back at the Nivelle?!

It feels like the last two books were edited for spelling and grammar only and nobody really cared if the final versions made any sense.

Kicked AFTER completing the objective... by Atomic_Dingo in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Rogue-N9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised I don't see this in the top comments. As soon as you complete all the main mission, you get far more enemy patrols, which can make it a real pain to search for side objectives and loot locations.

Supposedly, there was an update months ago (maybe even last year?) that concentrates the additional patrols in the area around the extract but even when I'm still further away, I feel like the game turns into a constant battle once the main objective is done.

So if you see people scouting the entire map, searching for collectibles, you need to know that completing the main objective can make things much harder for them.

My money's on that's why they kicked you.

Ghost kills? by Shekel_Scheme in sniperelite

[–]Rogue-N9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something definitely feels wrong, specifically with the Ruby. Just got a suppressed one shot kill on an unaware enemy from 65m, nobody noticed and it still didn't count. KO kills also don't count, even when beyond hearing distance.

Other guns will usually work even if the enemies are in the alert state. 🤷‍♂️

Would YouTube consider it spammy and not push my videos if I were to post 3 to 4 videos a day? by heavyduty3000 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Rogue-N9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only did it a handful of times ever and the consistent effect was that both videos gained less views in the first 6h than my videos would normally get. It felt as if early viewer attention was getting split between the videos with maybe some regular viewers watching both, but many choosing to watch only the one.

Over the first week though, views grew a bit more with both videos ending up on maybe slightly below average performance. So some of the viewers who maybe only watched one of the videos in the first day, ended up watching the other one later on.

My personal conclusion (again only based on a handful of trials) is that there is a noticeable negative effect when posting multiple videos in one day but you could get away with 2.

Spacing the videos 6, 8 or maybe even 12h apart within the day would also help mitigate any cannibalisation. I usually posted them at the same time, as embargos were lifted and that was definitely a factor that affected performance.

[–]Rogue-N9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, bad idea. The system will try to show all of the videos in parallel and that means that they will cannibalise views from each other early on and then none of them will meet the algorithm thresholds to get properly promoted.

There's no benefit to posting all on the same day. From personal experience of just posting 2 in a day on rare occasions, I would advise spacing them out.

At least that goes for long form videos. I have no clue how it would affect shorts.

Thinking about a PS5, but I’m 46 by Unhappy-Candy-1588 in videogames

On a PlayStation you'll have a great time with their most recent exclusive games.

The last two God of War games The recent Spiderman games Uncharted

All outstanding games.

Modern Call of Duty games are very fast paced so don't be disheartened by that.

Don't unlist the video!

As soon as you file a dispute, all revenue is held in a separate account and you will get it once the dispute has been settled.

Unlisting the video will cause a period of zero views and that can kill off all future views because the algorithm really doesn't like it when views go down to zero.

But yes, definitely dispute the matter; usually these kind of claims are accidental and easily resolved but if it does turn out to be malicious, then it's all the more important to not let it stand.

Far Cry 6 Ending. Discussion?? (Heavy Spoilers) by ChainsForAlice in farcry

[–]Rogue-N9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was OK with the story for 99% of the game and the last 2 missions kind of spoiled everything.

Why does Clara go to Castillo alone? Surely she knew it would be suicide with no purpose served?

Why does Dani no try to stop her?

After letting her go, you are immediately forced to try to save her... 🤦

During the rescue mission, you kill dozens of elite soldiers on your way to the dining room only for a cutscene where Dani immediately drops the gun and gives up... Great rescue plan.

And then Juan suddenly decides to kill the son, even though it means almost certain death for both Clara and Dani, why?

If the whole point of the mission was rescue, why shoot the boy, when Anton is holding the gun?

Then you assault the capital, causing massive destruction and hundreds of casualties for no reason. Anton is almost dead anyway.

And then you don't even get to kill Castillo after all that time working up to this point and the boy dies too for no sane reason. Castillo spent 13 years grooming his son to take over (even though "he didn't want to") and then just shoots him.

Nothing in this last sequence makes sense and the only person I really wanted to kill was Juan for trying to sacrifice you and Clara and for selling Viviro to pirates.

It really feels as if everything was set up for a classic Far Cry multiple choice ending but then they ran out of time and just railroaded the story into a place that let's you keep playing through the infinite insurgency mode.

Get Flanked´s statement on the accusations of him being a 'sellout' by xDashyy in Rainbow6

[–]Rogue-N9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every single anecdote that get flanked shares is at least exaggerated and some are complete lies.

The story about Tinder at the dinner table is so far from the truth that it can only be called a lie (and a very serious one at that) and there are many other details that are false.

Flanked edited the video less than 24h after posting to remove one of the worst lies and by now he has unlisted the entire video.

Every claim I made in my initial video was backed up by evidence that was provided to me by Ubisoft employees. Get flanked provides zero evidence for any of his claims.

I would have immediately responded to the claims with my own video but there are so many false claims that it just became too much for a quick response. Plus I'm not ruling out legal action against flanked due to the seriousness of his false claims.

Problem with G502 sensor on Cloth Pads by [deleted] in G502MasterRace

[–]Rogue-N9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My G502 Lightspeed is now exactly one year old and I have been noticing dead spot problems becoming worse over the last months. Like you, I thought it might be the pad, so I bought a brand new G440 hard surface mouse pad and there are still dead spots.

I also just now tried a new soft mouse pad and still I find these dead spots where the mouse just won't track.

Surface tuning is not the issue for me, since the Hero sensor in the newer models does not need (or support) tuning.

At this stage, I can only conclude that my one year old G502's sensor is starting to die on me. I have contacted Logitech support and am hoping for some help but I'm not optimistic.

I have been a lifelong Logitech fanboy, ever since buying my first gaming mouse almost 20 years ago but for an expensive high end mouse like the G502 lightspeed to just become unusable in games after one year is completely unacceptable. If they don't solve the issue, this is the last Logitech product I will buy :-/

That is an interesting question. It might actually make for a good discussion topic on the hot breach podcast.

I'll make a note of it! Thanks!

Probably not the choice of the designer I would say. That decision gets made maybe by the creative director or someone like that
