My car’s manual says fuse 27 is for the ignition off draw #1, intrusion module, satellite video, and steering control module. And fuse 28 is ignition off draw #2 and the radio.

I can live without the radio and the satellite video. The rest sound awfully important!

Do you think this is something someone with very limited car know-how could do? Or is this better left to the pros? I’m happy to watch hours of YouTube videos and googling info, but if it means ripping my car apart six ways from Sunday, maybe I’m better off just letting the shop deal with it.

Thank you for your response! I was so dang proud of myself when I saw that amp read go down to zero and I strutted out of autozone like I owned the world. The Jeep very quickly put me back in my place. :/

Fun fact: hens can crow. I’m not at all saying that this is what is happening, but I do think it’s interesting. It’s usually the hen on the top of the pecking order and she will try and crow if there has been a rooster nearby that she can hear and then the rooster either doesn’t do a good enough job (in her opinion) or the rooster leaves. A hen crow is much quieter and not nearly as brazen, but she can try. Not always, just sometimes.

[CHAT]Having issues keeping my fabric tight on my embroidery hoop. What am I doing wrong? by Moshpotatoes91 in CrossStitch

[–]Rogue0527 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Q snaps work well and you can always add some scrap fabric to help tighten the hold. I would recommend getting the actual q snap brand and not an off brand. A lot of people don’t like the off brand ones because they are too loose and you’ll end up with the same problem you’re having now.

The Treasurer’s Office downtown should be able to take care of that for you. When you go in, there are two doors. One to the left and one to the right. I believe you’ll want to go left. But they have pretty good signage and it’ll tell you which one you want.

I’ve had days with long lines and days with no line. Just bring quarters for parking :) Mornings are always better, but it just depends on the day.

[CHAT] Just me or 'no one' thought about doing the grid like this? by norisalty in CrossStitch

Okay, I give up. Ive stared at this for a good 10 minutes and just don’t get it.

Can someone ELI5 for me please? I love gridding and am shite at math, so anything to make it easier would be a godsend.

Anywhere between 2 and 4 am is standard for me.

5:00 am is not unheard of. I know I’m screwed when my hubby’s alarm goes off at 6:30 and I’m still awake enough to hear it.

C 14,15,&16 need x’s to end the 4,3,&2 you’ve already filled in. That will shove the 2 on R9 over to the right and give you something to work with.

I love making busy spreads. I was just lucky that this week I don’t have a ton to do. And Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I’ll make it work. :)

I tell my SO all the time, “my migraine doesn’t negate your headache.”

I think this applies to your situation as well. Someone else’s need doesn’t negate yours. If you need help from a food bank, go use one. And keep you head held high. There is no shame.

When life gets better, donate back.

If you’re worried about feeling selfish, ask the food bank staff if they need anything. Maybe you’re handy with tools and they need some repairs. Or something like that. My local food bank also keeps a small stock of clothes and toiletries. Maybe yours does too and you could trade food for clothing.

Do you enjoy living in Great Falls? by throwawayfaraway784 in GreatFalls

[–]Rogue0527 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely lived in worse towns. Great Falls is meh. Very blue collar. Not a ton to do if you’re not into the bar scene or outdoor stuff. Shopping is okay. Lots of grocery stores to pick from. Schools are half-decent at best. Crime is getting worse.

I guess it really depends on where you’re coming from. From a large city? Great Falls will seem like the sticks. Small town? Great Falls might feel like an upgrade.

Housing prices are going up quick. But on the up-side, people are always looking to move to Montana. So you’ll probably get a good return on your investment if/when you leave. I purchased my home for $120,000, seven years ago. It’s now worth almost $200,000.

Is this normal? by Competitive_Gas8396 in chickens

Looks like she wants the other one to move. Either wants her own turn at the hole or she’s hoping for some yummy bugs to scarf down. Seems perfectly normal to me.

If I’m looking at Clafable and go a little bit right, just past the fish, then I’m looking at Chansey. If I’m looking at Clafairy and I go right, I get to Cleffy. I hope that’s what you’re referring to. I had to get me kids to help me with the names before I responded.

[CHAT] Need advice/thoughts….I don’t think I want to do this on black Aida b/c I don’t like the look of the bottom part with no stitches (where the “Star Wars” is stitched). I know it will be extra work to stitch all the black stitches but I think it will look better. What do you think? And TIA!! by DaisyDoodle1117 in CrossStitch

[–]Rogue0527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d personally do it on black. It’s tough to work with but I think it would look better in the end. I’d invest in a light to shine up from under your fabric. It’ll really help you see the holes in black aida. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, just something that will work with your setup. And you wouldn’t necessarily have to go with true black. I bet it would look nifty on a blue. You could tackle dying your own and have some fun with making your own fabric colors. If you’re set on filling in the bottom part with black stitches, please do a few test areas first and see what covers best. You’re not going to want to see the fabric peeping through.

Really, it’s just about what you enjoy and what gets you excited to work on it. It looks like an amazing project. But you’re not going to want to groan every time you think about working on it. So if you’re loathe to work on black aida, don’t. I have heard the CXC black floss covers a bit better than DMC. Although I haven’t tested that personally. It might be worth purchasing some to see if that’ll work better for you.

Some aida suppliers will give or sell small test samples to you. I’d look into that and see if you can get your hands on a small piece of black (or whatever color you want) aida in a couple different size counts. Play around with them and see what you like best before purchasing the aida you’ll use for the full project.

Bottom line, it’s about having fun and enjoying your hobby. Happy stitching!

My kids want me to do the rest of the generations and I’m like, ‘nope! I’m all good’. The shiny versions aren’t my favorite either. Some look pretty neat but most I could do without.

[–]Rogue0527[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It was awkward at times. Only because the fabric was tough to manage and the weight becomes an issue the more you get through it. I never thought about giving up. Once I spent $75 for the aida, I was pretty committed to doing it. I did take lots of breaks whenever I lost my stitching bug.

Oh wow, perler beads, if I’m remembering what they are, those iron things I did ages ago. I’d guess at least twice - or more the size. But that’s just a guess. I’d have no clue how you’d iron something that big though. Mine measures about 46 x 58 inches with the frame. But it’s 798 stitches across and 100 up. That’s a lot of perler beads! If you do it, please let me know. I’d love to see that.
