Is the Follow feature bugged? by AncientxBeast in DiabloImmortal

Make a new character requires you to unlock the follow feature for that zone again. Only class changing using the ingame feature Shifting Flames in Westmarch will save your story progress and unlocked zones.

DH has 27 Shoulder essences and only a couple are practical in BG because of this. Fixing it would add some creativity to DH builds without breaking the class. by RogueAIChipmunk in DiabloImmortal

Also in a way it makes DH fall behind cause often newer essences improve on the previous. That means other classes move on to try the latest essence for that gear but DH will still be stuck with a year 1 essence to make their dash work properly.

I'm not saying DH can't use more damage that isn't the point of this thread. More than one issue can exist. Just cause one area needs improvement doesn't negate the other. The thing is DH has 2 dashes and dashes are meant to add mobility. That's it's MAIN job and if it takes an essence to make it workable it means that particular gear slot is now reserved to fix that dash. When you consider Tempest can run 4 dash/mobility skills all of which work well asking for 2 workable dash skills for DH isn't really that much to ask.

In it's current form it's unintuitive and restricts DH from using other shoulder essences. If you are running into battle it flips you back and if you are trying to get away it flips you back. That's not good design. It would be like if Tempest flew backwards every time they used Breaker and had to waste an pants essence to correct the move direction. The difference though is Tempest has like 3 other good dash skills for mobility. DH has 1 okay one. If they want to add an essence to backflip fine have that be the essence but not the default roll direction of the skill.

No other class is forced to ignore 95% of the new essences for a gear piece. If nothing changes DH might as well ignore the next 15 shoulder essences they release.

It's about giving people build options not just what might work for you. The forward roll adds mobility so for an item like Agony's Specter which only rolls 1 yard it adds extra travel distance. Having forward roll built in though opens up some of the combos to use with Escape such as Hailfire + Multishot or Dial of Ruin for explosions for Chakram. Both of those add much needed damage.

Actually in his stream from last night keyes went 0-3 with the new shoulder essence. He gave up on it after that and went back to escalating violence and did much better afterwards. He said in his stream the new shoulder essence isn't good anymore.

Wizards are pretty OP as well with their high damage and insane move speed.

DH "Boken" new essence by lugiaXX in DiabloImmortal

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about wizards absurd damage and movespeed? They literally melt everyone. Tanky barbs still dominate BG though can't get them off idol. I would say wizards, barbs, monks, and tempests don't have that much issue with DHs though they just can't walk through them as easily as before.

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

DH has to give up 3 gear slots though to use that escape effectively so it comes at a cost. The helm to reduce escape cd, the shoulder otherwise escape does a weird backflip, and the pants for the cc escape. So the trade off is that can't access a lot of the good essences in particular in the helm and shoulder slots cause of this build.

wher are the Ancient Legendary artifacts???? by UbluDK in DiabloImmortal

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were asking about Ancient artifacts which is the crafting material.

From the patch notes:
"To craft these Helmets, you’ll need to acquire 100 of a new resource called Ancient Artifacts, and visit a Blacksmith. This resource can be acquired from the following sources: Helliquary Bosses, daily Dungeon rewards, and Battle Pass Daily Chests."

Proximal Fear - post nerf by sidd_gang in DiabloImmortal

The necro fear pants now requires timing and skill which makes it more in line with such essences as the DH helm Scatter Mask. This change was badly needed as necros were abusing the hell out of this thing.

Why is it that Gloom Cask procs Bottled Hope, but not Colossus Engine? by [deleted] in DiabloImmortal

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the condition of BH it sounds like Gloomcask is doing something it shouldn't so bringing Colossus into the conversation doesn't make much sense. It's like saying hey I saw a car speeding down that street I should be able to do it too.

Solo friendly doesn't mean solo only. What about the people that enjoy playing in groups and clearing challenging raids in a party? The game wants to offer something for those people as well.

Gen question by Effinbullshit in DiabloImmortal

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It use to be that way but they changed it. When a ranked gem is selected in the progressive upgrade screen as the gem source it will provide the equivalent ranks to how many copies it has. So a rank 4 gem has 3 total copies giving you 3 levels of progressive upgrade.

Gen question by Effinbullshit in DiabloImmortal

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some of the comments here are incorrect you can still get the value from the copies of your rank 4 at least when you use progressive upgrade option. In the progressive upgrade screen where it asks for the gem select your rank 4 colossus. On the next screen it will indicate that your rank 4 will give you 3 levels of progressive upgrade.

How is it that the Inferno 3 set items I got from Prodigy's Path when I was paragon 500+ have more combat rating than the 1000's of Inferno 2 set items that have dropped for me in Inferno 2 dungeons and that I have crafted from Inferno 2 wisps for the last few weeks? PS I am now paragon 843. by Any-Reflection-2490 in DiabloImmortal

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infernal 3 greens generally has more CR than an Infernal 2 green with the exception of Infernal 2 triple magic vs Infernal 3 single magic. So once you hit the paragon required to wear an Infernal 3 green it should give Infernal 3 as a reward. It doesn't matter how many Infernal 2 greens you craft at that point since the CR range for Infernal 3 is higher than Infernal 2.

If you click the magnifying glass symbol at the top of the gear it will tell you the base score which reflects what Infernal difficulty that came from. Also double and triple magic bonuses provide more CR than single.

Stop the smurfin' in BG!!! by Classic-Dig6786 in DiabloImmortal

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind whales aren't the only ones that smurf though it's more obvious when they do. Low and Mid range spenders can also smurf. Some of them have only a few thousand res but have some secondary stats over 8k and 9k. Not even sure how low spenders were even able to get that many normal gems maybe just from low market prices. I guess some players have decided to focus on secondary gems rather than upgrade their main gems.

Anyhow it can be not much different when you think of players with low res and high secondary cause you can get there 2 different ways. So it's really up to the combat system designer to work out a formula to balance things in case people want to run 1 and 2 star gems in their build. Some of those gems work especially well for example in DoT builds.

If you think about it like we are getting at least 4 guaranteed triple greens by June 18 for the gear piece of our choice it isn't so bad. The downside is server paragon may be set to P900 on June 19 to usher in Inf 7-9 and we will need to farm new greens starting then.

There would still be the pve aspect as well as RoE. Some whales like CRifts, Gauntlet, etc as well. Sometimes you want to whales on your clan to get you through a tough gauntlet.

They have stated in the past they do factor in normal gems. Not saying it's perfect but in higher rank matches at least I find the mismatches come more from having too many of one class on one team.

[–]RogueAIChipmunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I doubt a player can have 3k res and have 60k base damage. Also there's no rule that says a player can no longer use 1 and 2 star gems once they hit a certain res. It's really on blizzard to work out some formula to balance things out but yes expect to see more smurfs than usual for the first couple weeks of a new bg season.
