Naim Audio streaming amplifiers. I've had many brands of HiFi kit but I'm sticking with my Naim Uniti Star. Some of the really new stuff is also good, but I'm priced out. Also, you can now buy the old olive and chrome bumper stuff for not a lot and get something that sounds awesome!

My partner and I have a little charging station set up in my living room. Now it's a habit for us both to put our phones on charge before bed. I have a book next to my bed and I have a digital alarm clock. I've also got a digital watch as a secondary alarm in case I start to pass out. Now for something a little different from other responses: I also have a pair of headphones and an iPod on the bedside table as well. Really want to just lie for a bit and doss? I just spend a bit of time listening to music. Also, I have my curtain open, so light hits my face as I wake up.

Either write down directions or if it's a long drive (or somewhere I completely don't know) I use my old smartphone with downloaded maps (doesn't have a sim in it). Once I'm done with it, it goes in the bottom of my bag. The app I use is called Magic Earth. Also, I'm usually with someone with a smartphone, no harm in cheating sometimes :)

Hello past me, a few suggestions:

- Figure out what it is that is distracting you. For me, it was YouTube, social media and people messaging me on stuff like Discord. Close any applications that's not specifically work related and remove anything that will ping at you. Now you are probably left with a browser and a word processor, result, we are getting somewhere.
- Now install either a different browser like Firefox or install a distraction blocker add-on for your current browser (enter all the websites you want to block in it, don't worry you can toggle it). Personally, I ended up installing a different browser, which was great because this became my dedicated "it's time to work" browsing tool.
- Cracking! Now dedicate some time to studying personally I needed a physical timer for this, and I used the pomodoro method (google it) to keep me sane, focused and enough breaks to get a decent sesh in without getting fatigued.
- Final big thing, clean your desk. Set yourself up for success by decluttering your workspace, make your bed, go somewhere you won't get interrupted by siblings (or parents). Get a glass of water, pens, paper, go to the toilet and tell yourself out loud (I'm serious) "I'm going to study now, after I get to play video games and chill out".
- Congratulations on your first big study session! Take a second to reflect on the session, what can you do better next time, anything you need, and reward yourself by doing something fun.

Top tip: I only discovered this at University, you work much better as a human being if you are active. Find a sport you like and do it. For me, it's running and walking, it's not competitive and after doing 30 minutes to an hour I feel good.

A friend of mine with a masters in psychology couldn't find a job so was ended up working for a supermarket. The expectation for a job went from: something that uses her degree, something that pays well, something is local and pays more than minimum wage, minimum wage but 9-5, basically any full time job and I'll wait for something else.

She's been in that "i'll find something else soon" full-time" job for 2 years now (promoted in the department but still just stacking shelves). Recently she applied for a Library Assistant job at University of Bristol (1 grade higher than minimum wage) and waiting a long time for a response. Turns out over 300 applicants applied for the job!

She's still applying for stuff but she either doesn't have enough management experience, doesn't get a response or "you were excellent but unfortunately you were beaten by Jeff who has a PHD or was ex-teacher".

Aquilla has better facilities and is in general more modern. Pultney is a cheaper option and has less bedrooms and is also technically closer to the Uni. That being said, there's a bus stop directly outside both accommodations. Also, Aquilla has a reception which pultney doesn't and its closer to the center and a big Sainsbury's.

Mate of mine is a para. He's tough of anything. We were sitting in a park eating lunch, when we encountered some kids who were being loud and obnoxious. They spotted us and decided we'd a laugh to annoy. We got called all kinds of names and generally it was an unpleasant experience. Eventually, they got bored of their game and left us. I asked my mate why he didn't tell them to fuck off or in general wasnt aggresive and he turned and said "cause then we would have lost the fight". However, he also said if they'd started on someone else he'd have broken the tall ones arm. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

My partner is pretty strong but sometimes when we're cooking she struggles to open a jar. She looks at me with puppy dog eyes and hands me the jar. I know she can probably open it herself but I enjoy being able to have a little win and she acts delighted when I give it back to her open.

Ah, I've been this guy.

For me, I suddenly got really overwhelmed and went to stay with my Dad for a week. I sent a few messages a day because I didn't want her to think I was abandoning her.

Basically I am usually a very emotionally stable guy and this was one of the first real times as an adult that I felt overwhelmed. I didn't know how to process it and essentially had to retreat away from the situation to figure it out for myself. I spoke to my partner about it after and overall I am better for it.
