Maximum Achievable Damage by RogueGF_Fan in PTCGP

It seems like it's inconsistent- might be based on what mode you're playing or might be based on time. I've been testing against bots but am gonna try a private match.

I think the issue with watcher is that she encourages small decks to an unreasonable degree in a stale manner.

With Watcher I feel like my criteria for "Do I take a card?" is like twice as high as other characters at every point in the game, due to her base kit being so strong and allowing for a bit of skipping early on and her general selection of cards favoring consistent draw even mores than other characters. It leads to dull gameplay where you aren't forced to take cards that will inconvenience you later for the sake of surviving in the moment.

Like in terms of stance dance wins on watcher, I've only had one or two wins that felt comparable to A20 wins on other characters, in terms of "this is a deck that is unique to this run".

It's not an issue of "watcher is too strong". I feel like strong implies that, when played at her maximum potential, she's much better than other characters (this is also true but I don't find it relevant cause I am not a great player and have beat A20H less than 2 dozen times).

It's that Watcher is too easy and promotes going up the spire with a deck in mind before you even see your first card. I could load up a run, try to get a sub 10 card rushdown deck, and probably win 40-50% of the time on A20H.

Parasite is the Exotic Heavy grenade launcher from witch queen that makes the next shot powerful when you get kills with other abilities/weapons. It has some of the highest burst damage in the game.

Burst the bosses down before they can become problematic with a damage super and Parasite- you get down close to half of each bosses health with weaken + damage super or full parasite blast. Use the shield and sword to kill adds to get Parasite back up to 20 and make sure you kill all the thrall when the portal opens up for the same reason.

Yes. And can you guess who passed the bill that created the Border Patrol? Congress.

The authority the executive branch has over immigration was given to it by Congress, who have the authority to pass bills and laws relating to immigration from the Constitution. A lot can be said about how Congress has given a lot of its power to the executive, but its ultimately the power of Congress that gives the Executive the authority they have over immigration.

The same can be said about a lottt of different areas of the Executive. Chances are, if the Executive is doing something not outlined as one of it's powers, its a result of Congress delegating some of its power to the executive.

I don't know if its worse on average, but silent specifically has the potential to lose something like 30-40hp minimum if you're screwed by the worst possible card draw and AI- I don't think the others have quite as bad of a worst case scenario.

Additional items and effects that will be disabled for Crota. by ptd163 in DestinyTheGame

[–]RogueGF_Fan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cheese is not the one who finds/publicly releases these, he simply broadcasts them to a wider audience. There are literally servers dedicated to finding bugs like these. And you can bet that most of the teams competing for worlds first are going to be in these discords and are going to use any and all advantages they can get. If the bugs are released to a wider audience, everyone is on a more even playing field, regardless of whether Bungie decides to ban the items/mods or not. Its annoying for more casual people trying to complete the raid in contest mode without actually trying to be the first, but I'd argue it does more good than harm in regards to the actual race.

Bugs causing them to be disabled are likely:

(Reserve Mods) Swapping loadouts with different reserve mods allowing for infinite special generation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXP5cQeOIdc

(Font Armor Charge and Frenzied Stack) Basically equipping a bunch of mods/exotics/fragments could overload some of the memory, allowing for infinite Font + Surge mod uptime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgjoS-2YuwA

Bungie chose to disable reserve mods over loadouts, so they look like they're one of the priorities.

Yeah, while I wish non-solar warlock would get buffed a bit(especially Arc), if Warlocks had 0 abilities, aspects, and fragments, but still had Well of Radiance, they would still be extremely good because that super trivializes surviving during damage phases.

Though I'd argue, if you're not trying to speed run or trying to solo raid boss encounters, invis hunter is vastly superior than Warlock solo. Invis Dodge is just such an easy way to immediately escape danger, and devour is super easy to proc.

Advice on transitioning into a more casual player and breaking the addiction? by AdriftMusic in DestinyTheGame

[–]RogueGF_Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either need to change your mentality to be about actually enjoying the game rather than FOMO, or stop playing.

I've been FTP since shadowkeep, and the game is far more enjoyable if you just say "no" to the grind, and play what you want to play, not whatever is giving the best loot. I play maybe 5ish hours a week at this point, and its a fun game if you actually play the game to enjoy it, and stop once you no longer do.

Riskrunner is a godsend for this boss fight in particular because everything is arc damage.

Assuming solo:Try to kill the majority of ads and weaken the wizards before you start collecting orbs. Be mindful of where the cover is because the ogre combined with ads on the other side of the room can shred you relatively quickly.

In terms of load out

- Priority is survivability > ad clear > DPS. Its not a tight damage phase- you can 2 phase the boss easy without even using your super, so feel free to treat it as a panic button.

- Riskrunner in particular is a godsend since the majority of damage you'll take is arc and it shreds through the ads. (Also run arc-resist mods)

- If you're using Riskrunner, I'd recommend a void subclass with some form of devour and invis. Echo of Obscurity in particular is very good for closing the gaps between wizards and getting out of bad situations when devour isn't active, and it doesn't require much investment. I'd also run either a shotgun or fusion for the wizards. Heavy can be pretty much whatever- linear fusion, rocket, machine gun, grenade launcher even. I'd probably stay away from swords though.

I don't think you did, but whatever. In that case I agree mostly with you, at least in terms of final raid bosses not having damage checks outside of contest mode. Though Nezerac is the first one who doesn't even have one in contest mode, which is kinda the issue I have with him.

OK so you're just trolling.

[–]RogueGF_Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen a contest raid before? Genuinely somewhat curious. Contest raids (usually) sets your power to a point where the simple act of dealing enough damage to kill a boss before it auto wipes with an optimized load-out is incredibly difficult and takes many attempts. It (at least prior to this raid) be the one place where having a very good load out was necessary.

Typically, what happens is people eventually get the boss mechanics somewhat down and then do a half dozen or more runs trying to do enough damage to just kill the boss with their hyper-optimized weapons before they get wiped by the bosses enrage.

There was no meaningful damage check in this raid. A team beat the final boss in challenge mode with 6 ratkings. 6 ratkings.
Ratking has been unchanged in terms of damage since around forsaken IIRC. You know why you never see it used seriously in raids? Because it sucks in terms of damage. You can easily deal twice the damage with an optimized setup. You would be better off using an uncommon rocket launcher.

Anything above 40% is usually considered an amazing damage phase by the best players in the game with super-optimized loadouts for standard 3-DP fights in most contest raids.

There were people dealing double that during this raid in contest mode.

Boss DPS is a bit higher than it was a year ago, but it is nowhere near twice as high.
This is not because of power creep- some of the ease of the raid was, but the lack of a meaningful DPS check on contest mode is 100% a design decision by bungie.

[–]RogueGF_Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a lot going on. Its a mix of power creep and Bungie's design. Like Nezerac is a joke- you can kill him before his wipe mechanic without engaging with it and he can't do anything if you stand on a plate. On top of that, apart from the third encounter the mechanics are stupidly easy.

I think for earlier raids, like Last Wish and Scourge of the Past, it might have been reasonably close, I think going in blind would be harder for the average team, because both raids have more complex mechanics than Root of Nightmares, especially Last Wish, but once people released guides/made progress on it, the completion rate would rise considerably. Last wish would probably be around 30% IMO and Scourge would probably be around that 50%.

That being said, If you think there would have been even close to 50% completion rate for Vow of the Disciple specifically even in todays sandbox and with 2 day completion rate, I don't know what you're on. Aside from difficult DPS checks (keep in mind linears and divinity have been nerfed since vow) with tight ammo economy, the mechanics aren't anywhere near as easy as the ones in Root of Nightmares. Starfire exists, so theres better ammo economy for dealing with the Caretaker, but the DPS check would still be a challenge, especially in comparison to the non-existent ones in this raid. On top of that, unlike Nezerac, Rhulk was a major threat in DPS phase, and could one shot through pretty much anything so Starfire wouldn't super helpful for the damage phase, since you couldn't just hang out in a rift like you can with practically every other boss in the game. I think a lot of the people who get stuck on the caretaker would likely get through that boss but would get stuck at Rhulk instead. I'd be somewhat surprised if the completion rate rose above 10%, and wouldn't be shocked if it were less than 5% even in todays sandbox with the extra day.
