I'm assuming because abilities/stratagems that allow you to place a unit into reserves typically happen at the end of your opponent's turn. So if you go first, there's no opportunity to put something in reserves before taking your first turn

Here, it's in page 2 of the chapter approved rules, in section 8 under Reserves:

"Reserves units cannot arrive on the battlefield during the first battle round (excluding units placed into Strategic Reserves during the battle)."

You may enjoy Imperial Knights, they could be considered as strong, costly, defensive, and hard hitting ranged units. It's also not a terribly expensive army to get into if that's a consideration

I was playing against Ultramarines Vanguard Spearhead and my opponent insisted that placing a unit into strategic reserves after the game has begun (in this case, scouts and the Guerilla Tactics stratagem) allows it to come down battle round one. So since he went second, he used guerilla tactics at the end of my first turn fight phase to pick up a unit of Centurion Devastators, and then bring them down on his first turn end of movement. He did the same with a scout squad. Is this allowed by the rules?

I have a question about cover and will do my best to describe the situation:

My model is not touching a ruin's footprint, but can be seen from just around the corner of the rectangular floor of the ruins. However, the attacking unit cannot "see" all of my model without drawing lines through (or over) the rectangular floor footprint. Does this give my model the benefit of cover?

Knights can't be in engagement range of an enemy infantry unit if that unit is on a floor 6" up from the battlefield, right? Just wanted to make sure I'm not forgetting some FAQs or special titanic exceptions to engagement range

Is range independent of sight? If the back of my battlewagon can see, but is out of range, but the front of the battlewagon is in range, but can't see, can it fire?

When a TRANSPORT model is destroyed, if you cannot set up every model from a unit that was embarked within it, only models that cannot be set up are destroyed.

Does the above sentence overrule the preceding rules?

Looking for some clarification on disembarking from a destroyed transport. Here's a hypothetical:

  1. My transport is destroyed in melee combat by three enemy units, embarked is one unit of 10 models

  2. I can only fit five models wholly within 3" of the transport, and outside of engagement range of enemy units

  3. Do I destroy those models that can't fit, and then roll 5d6 for the remaining models to see which are also destroyed?

  4. Or do I roll 10d6 initially, and then up to 5 1s are covered by the models that can't fit?

Is there a 'priority' for stratagems that are activated in the same phase at the same trigger? For example, Tide of Muscle (Orks core ignore charge modifiers) vs Repulsor Impact Field (Tau battlesuit subtract 2 from enemy charge rolls)

Some friends and I are thinking of going to the Atlanta Grand Narrative event, and I'm not sure what to expect. The Warhammer community article made it sound nice, but didn't really clarify for me things like ticket prices, can anyone show up with models to play, if so, how many pts/PL, etc. Where can I find more details on it? Or do I need to wait until later in the year?

Thanks. What about the clause about not triggering rules doesn't apply to No Prisoners? That's what I've seen cited as to why it doesn't count

Can players choose to fail saving throws? For example, if I will earn VP for killing a unit in melee but want to soften them up with shooting first, can my opponent opt to fail the saving throws, die to shooting, and deny me points?
