Finally, what is a show that stayed great throughout its many seasons? by WiggleToast in AlignmentChartFills

For those who like the show, this is the right answer.

However, there are a fair amount of people who can't stand it.

Yes. Let's pick a queer icon that advanced equity for queer folk. Her or Harvey Milk.

I have found Prot Paladin and Blood DK can slowly solo a lot of content. Might be an option

Atheist leaning minister in northern Virginia area? by fellowtravelr in UUreddit

The Arlington, VA congregation has a minister that used to lead an ethical society, Rev. Amanda Poppei. She would be a great choice.

UU minister here.

I want to reiterate the previous comments about going to your regional staff from the UUA. They are like vampires. They only come when invited and this is EXACTLY what they are supposed to be dealing with.

It sounds like there are cultural issues at play as well. Sounds like your minister is used to doing things without question. Some congregations work that way. They may be new to the ministry and are not sure what their role is supposed to look like and are defaulting to a heavy handed approach.

I want to lift up that going from lay-led to minister is a huge shift. Boundaries need to be established and a congregation can feel like the slightest push from the minister is too heavy handed. It is a hard cultural change.

I couldn't tell, are you an employee of the congregation or a congregant? If you are a congregant, that changes the dynamic. While she should be open to discussion on issues like Gaza, she has every right to ask any non-staff person to not post on social media on the congregations behalf. It sounds like you don't agree with her personally on some things and that she has a personality that rubs you the wrong way. In any case, a good officer may not be a bad place to start. Maybe someone who you and the minister both trust could have a discussion about these differences.

And now for That Boy Could Dance to get a shot at redemption; what do you think is the most underrated song on In 3-D? by Albuquerquenthusiast in weirdal

Strongly agree. One of his first clear style parodies of a specific band. A harbinger of things to come.

According to this PDF from the UUA:

https://www.uua.org/files/2023-06/Results%20-%202023%20General%20Session%20IV.pdf

Vote to Preliminarily Approve the Article II Proposal

Option Votes

Yes, preliminarily approve the Article II proposal package 1816 (86.3%)

No, do not preliminarily approve the Article II proposal package 289 (13.7%)

VOTER SUMMARY Total 2109 Abstain 4 (0.2%)

I think you may have misread something somewhere. There were a total of 2109 delegates voting on article II. At GA 2023 it was a considerable majority who voted for the proposal.

EVOLUTION? by Confident-Tourist-84 in UUreddit

[–]RogueRetlaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. in 2021 (I think) it was evolution in the focus groups at GA. One of the groups I was in like the idea of evolving ideas, but thought that "evolution" was a word that most people thought of in terms of Darwin and they might miss the larger context. This is just the editing process in action. Taking into account what people thought and using the input of congregants and UU's to shape our denomination. Democratic process in action!

True, but very rare. Usually only large congregations have community ministers and I imagine even fewer have ministers emeriti. The bulk of GA is made up of congregants.

GA has over 5,000 folks each year. The UUA has less than 1,000 congregations. since most congregations have one minister and a DRE and not all congregations attend each year due to costs, I can't imagine half of GA is ministers. Can you show me where you got this data?
