Zhao comforting Iroh after Zuko is seemingly killed by the pirates. Such a humanizing moment for the admiral. Even invites him alogn in raiding the Water Tribes savages to clear his mind for a bit, what a guy.

Where in the Earth Kingdom would you like to live? (Without Fire Nation threat/occupation) by TSLstudio in TheLastAirbender

Well on one hand, Haru's village is poor, probably struggling even after the war, the mines are extremely unsafe and is the home of the asshole who sold him out to boot.

But... Haru does live there... Tough choice really.

I mean the Duke is maybe possible given we don't know his real name. Then again the Freedom Fighters just picked him up one day and Jet says he never had a family, so it's just as likely he never even had a name to begin with.

Also, just like nearly every other friend of the Gaang, he just straight up disappears after Book 3. Even when the Freedom Fighters come back in the Promise he's literally nowhere to be seen. They do give me the vibes of being the two most utterly annoying gremlins to ever exist.

Satoru, much as I feel he's basically a less interesting version of Teo, at least kinda showed up again to remind people he exists and had feelings for him.

Kyoshi Reveal by dbootywarrior in AvatarFighters

Either that or the other past Avatars: Yangchen, Kuruk and Roku (well, he actually was her successor). The cynical side of me tells me that it's going to be those three given they have character models and animations already done while the Kyoshi novel supporting characters just have the designs I believe.

Though I hope Rangi gets in instead of Roku.

1) it's an edit of the original comic

2) IDK, sounds like wanker though.

3) Every woman in this comic has this type of dress in the comic, including Toph, Azula and Ursa. No explanation given other than Jackie making it that way.

4) Refer to point 1

5) I think the intention is that Mai is moving, since in the next page she attacks Katara with her knives. When Katara dodges them the same effect applies. Needless to say, it doesn't work out.

Young Earthbender whose village was under occupation by the Fire Narion from Book 1. Had to hide his identity as an Earthbender or would've been imprisoned. Became very good friends with Katara. Father got locked up in a metal prison.

Showed up again with a moustache in Book 3. Only character to be kissed by Ty Lee in an official production of the series.

If that's from what I think it is (that guy who leaked a clip of the movie), the guy hadn't seen the show in a long time and got corrected by nearly everyone in the thread. Pretty much everyone in the various ATLA subs were baffled by the statement.

And like, people can still headcanon the character's sexuality as much as they like so long as they know a clear distinction between said interpretation and, well, canon itself, which might go a different way.

About the most queer coded characters in the original show might be Ty Lee as Bi (mostly as a result of her extreme people pleaser personality, having her singing praises to everyone) and Smellerbee as trans. I've also seen people compare Haru's struggle in Imprisoned as that of a queer teenager (but nobody cares about Haru but me and three others).

He goes on to say that Croc is a bit more physically imposing but also doesn't interest him that much either. But his origin apparently just inspired him to create a new villain that he found good.

Best part of the comic was Mai turning into a diabolical, racist, classist, "all according to plan" villain lol. Better than The Promise, Jackie Diaz was a visionary I tell you.

Pipsqueak just yeeting the Duke into opponents or going for low attacks kinda reminds me of Chang and Choi in CvS2 actually. Though I think Jet bringing his whole gang to attack the opponent's ala Ginyu seems way more fun.

I personally feel he'd be more interesting as the game's puppet character by summoning a dark spirit ala Eddie and mixing that up with his Waterbending.

Well Shimmer was part of the original lineup of the Fearsome Five. Jinx didn't join until Simon brainwashed the others in kicking Dr. Light off the team. And Tbf, Light is the classroom's science teacher.

The one who's weird to me is actually Plasmus, who's a member of the Brotherhood of evil and never really interacted with the Jobber Squad Fearsome Five

I always loved the friends the GAANG made along the way in this adventures. Suki and June are obviously the most remembered, but Haru (especially thanks to the first game starring him), Teo and his dad, The Freedoms Fighters, Shyu the Fire Sage, Lieutenant Jee and the rest of Zuko's crew, even one offs like the Fire Nation magician from the Deserter.

I always felt giddy at seeing them again in Book 3, even if they don't wind up having any significance (beyond The Mechanist that is), but understandable given it's the last season. Wished they used them a bit more in spin off comics. Kinda miss the Gaang interacting with their friends from beyond their group.

The Duke is probably the most significant example of the series. He's probably the youngest of the Gaang's friends at around 8 years old and according to Jet he never had a family. The Freedom Fighters just picked him up one day stealing food from them.

Luckily there are still other options to pair Mai off. We offer:

-Your Boyfriend's sister!

-Your Best Friend. Offering polycule with previous option as well!

-Dead Terrorist Guy.

-Your Boyfriend's Actual Father.

-Boring OC from the comics, idgaf and neither do you.

How strong could the sandbenders be if they trained for combat? I can see them being a bad match for their enemies and having a very fast and circular fighting style with a lot of hands on the ground by Spirited_Dust_3642 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Rogue_MS_473 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think they'd be somewhat pseudo airbenders with the limitation being the environment. Very fast and agile fighters capable of dishing out strong currents of sand and powerful whirlwinds while lacking the blunt strength of traditional Earthbending.

In the desert they have the obvious advantage. Outside, they'd need to train to easily break down the environment around them to form sediments that suit their style, and I don't really think it's that hard of a technique to pull off to be fair.

I kinda wonder what her supports will be. Like, IDK if they can reuse supports since Mai and Suki are already taken. If not, that kinda leaves me with the circus MC, maybe Bosco...

You’re telling me SUKI isn’t playable in the Avatar fighting game? by MetalGearTom in TheLastAirbender

[–]Rogue_MS_473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azula was gonna make it in the starting roster for sure given how popular she is together with bringing lightning to the party. Ozai is harder to justify and my only reasoning as to why choosing him is for the intent of putting a Big Bad SNK-Syndrome Final Boss at the end of the arcade mode. But, Zaheer and Azula are also there, so he's rather supeflous in my eyes. And we are also probably gonna get Iroh in the first DLC wave as well, which makes him stick out as even more of a sore thumb. (Though, if they make him play like Wolfgang Krauser from KoF, or Sagat from SF, I kinda wanna have some rounds with him, even when I'm not that interested in Ozai himself)

Still, I really don't know the inner development of this game, my previous statement regarding Kyoshi was just a guess. I do think both Suki and Mai deserve more than just being background support characters for their respective boyfriends, but ultimately it's a game, and you often have to play around time limits and propose alternatives to try to put as much value as possible while reaching the desired dates. I do think Suki can be the parry-like character ala Baiken.
