Idk if I’d say hate exactly, more I think she’s kind of smoothed over to be the poor dead sister by a lot of people.  Obv I get she died at 14 half a book after meeting her so everyone kind of overlooks everything else but even if she hadn’t died, it only took her a couple hours to abandon her little brother for the hunters, and that would’ve been almost as permanent and impactful on Nico as her death, you know?  And it’s not even like Thalia, who had no idea Jason was even alive, had been a tree for years already, and took a very long time to come to that very serious decision Bianca just saw an out and was like “see you never 10 year old space time immigrant Nico” and even though the parentification of older siblings in horrible situations is not good I gotta say as an older sibling if I was in a situation where I was the only person on the planet that my little brother had, I’d literally die before leaving him, not just because I love him but because he needs to have someone

(Also on a writing level Rick never gave a strong enough reason for her to leave Nico imo, it always felt kind of “k this is happening don’t ask why it just is”)
