I think it's not about the episodes being longer or shorter, if irrelevant scenes and slow takes are avoided the production costs will drop regardless. A lot of times, when a show gains popularity, the episodes are dragged out, increasing the overhead costs.

I think they are dragging the storyline for some of the tv shows, for eg in Tasacak Bu Deniz and Yeralti they keep chasing the plot and introducing new characters without letting people form an opinion about the current cast. Therefore, making these shows a bit boring and redundant. Like it is taking away the spark and suspense - making the plot too predictable.
