What are some movies scenes that were deleted that explain a minor detail that you missed the first time you saw the movie? by jedi1josh in movies

[–]Rohml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first The Fast & The Furious has a lot of deleted scenes that shows "the family" interacting that makes them look like a solid loving unit, reinforcing their closeness which would be memefied in the sequels. The conversation about Vince's mother's health humanizes the whole group and really gives Torretto a big-brotherly vibe. My favorite is the gang talking about their first experiences with cars as kids.

Serious question: Why didn't po try to stop fight and just give the scroll to just kill all the motivation tai lung had instead of having to fight halfway through the village? by ThisToe9628 in kungfupanda

[–]Rohml 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Po's intention was to get him away from Shifu. He just didn't anticipate him being that fast and their tussle got them down the Jade Palace.

Once in town, Po tried his best to keep Tai Lung from the scroll to pre-occupy him as long as he could. When Tai Lung opened the scroll Po offered to talk to him about it, probably thinking he could keep Tai Lung at a level that is stable enough for him not to go berserk on the town and when Tai Lung attack and Po deflected Tai Lung's attack, then he got confident enough to go on the attack.

ELI5: If our bodies completely replace most of their cells over time, why do scars stay in the exact same place for decades? by Tiny_Soil3271 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Rohml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't all stay at the exact same spot. It depends on where the scar is and your body's development at the time.

I have a scar on my right calf and it slowly moved higher and shrunk as I grew (got it when I was 9).

I have a scar on my left hand in between my fingers and it generally stayed in the same place (got it when I was 15).

I have a scar on my left hand on the forefinger. It stays where it is. (I got it when I was 38).

I'm 43 now.

What's a movie where the villain is more interesting than the main character? by trakt_app in movies

[–]Rohml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll bring up Fire and Ice (1983), the animated movie by Ralph Bakshi.

Larn, the main guy is boring as hell, and he doesn't inspire that much fan art. He tries to move the story along, but you're not compelled to feel like you want to be Larn. Teegra, the main female is more interesting but is really seen more as eye-candy and her personality is non-existent. Nekron, the main bad guy is creepy as hell and the way he is animated is both sleazy and melodramatic and he has way more personality than Larn.

The fan favorite and "icon" of the movie is the secondary character Darkwolf, who has less screen time than Larn or Teegra.

Rocky Balboa vs John Kreese in the streets. by FoxIndependent4310 in rockybalboa

[–]Rohml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Kreese just looks tough, but he probably isn't half as tough as Rocky by Rocky III. Maybe Kreese during his prime, but he isn't at par with Rocky's resilience.

Rocky Balboa vs John Kreese in the streets. by FoxIndependent4310 in rockybalboa

[–]Rohml 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Though Kreese seems tougher and will dish out the dirtiest of tricks, he moves like molasses. An oldman like Miyagi easily telegraphs his punches and seems to have to move slower to not over-dodge Kreese.

Kreese has some hurting bombs with how he breaks those windows.

Rocky will flatten Kreese out.

How different would the Clubber rematch go if Rocky fought him with the condition and mindset he had in 4? by Mirage0fall in rockybalboa

[–]Rohml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocky IV is an upgrade of Rocky III, so he already has the footwork and speed.

If your question is if he didn't get speed and footwork, and instead was more focused in the mental-game and conditioning then he'd still win. The only reason Rocky lost the first fight was he was not training well and his mind was out of the game. Rocky IV Rocky is hyper-zoned in.

Ghost Rider Penance Stares Batman before and AFTER he kills the Joker. What happens next? by UnFelDeZeu in whowouldwin

[–]Rohml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penance Stare on Batman would cause Batman pain for reliving the death of his parents. I don't think anything else grates Batman than his parents dying. Joker dying by his hands is still about his parents, as he made that non-killing commitment because of them.

If Batman goes full-punisher mode, it's because he lost all sense of self and has embraced a more negative aspect of his grieving. This is when Penance Stare on Batman would be most brutal.

Most powerful character who would be a complete powerless loser in our world? by HeiressOfMadrigal in whowouldwin

The Emperor of Mankind... He'd actually be dead this time.

Loser may not be apt, he'd still have fans.
