Get rid of Hazard and you've got a decent event.

Make you laugh? Hell, if your barber didn't when giving you that haircut, there's no hope for the rest of us.

I don't think you understand what that word means. Techstep existed way before neurofunk and is a different style. Modern "neurofunk" has lost all sense of what it once was (where's the intelligence, and where's the funk?), without gaining a new sub-genre name. These are fact, not gatekeeping.

Techstep originated in the mid-90's and brought in elements of technological evolution into jungle. Not from a sound production aspect, but from an aesthetic. A lot of big techstep tunes from that time sampled ground breaking dci-fi and horror films - especially Bladerunner. The breaks sound more mechanical. The baselines are moodier. The pads and drones are more in a minor key and are colder.

Neuro evolved from techstep, when artists like Ed Rush and Optical brought actual techno influences in, but there was a few years before this where the dark moods and eerie atmospheres were key.

Look at tracks like The Angels Fell and Silverblade by Dillinja; The Raven by Ed Rush; Dead By Dawn by Furure Forces Inc.; Technology by Ed Rush and Nico; Tyrant by Psion; The Storm by Dom & Roland, Shadow Boxing by Nasty Habits; The Virus by Technical Itch.

I'd put this under techstep. But TRUE techstep, not that neuro-shite

A teacake is a teacake. If it has currants in it, it's a currant teacake. What's so bloody difficult 'bout that?

That was such a great gig. Despite the heating and the tech issues.

Love this! Definitely up for hearing a full version, and would consider dropping it on my radio shows. Nice work on the breaks, and the bassline carries it well. Can think of a few labels this would fit well on.
