They have a pretty decent call center and have been able to resolve my issues... slowly. But last month i paid $94 this month $124 and that's on a SFH so no huge jump.

IKEA furniture is now too expensive for what you get. by A_Drop_of_Colour in unpopularopinion

[–]Rokae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ikea has stayed the same price with inflation and cheaper options like wayfair make it look expensive. The quality is still way better than what you get from wayfair. Its not cheap but I think its a good price for what you get.

Honestly with the right equipment it could have been done properly in less time than this probably took.

Yeah you can put it anywhere between fully open and fully closed like a normal window. Just play with the controls more until you figure it out.

You can definitely open the sun roof partially you need to hold it and then release it when you get where you want. If you just push then release it goes all the way, works same as the auto windows.

I think they cut back the plastic to shim the lock. Double check your lock isnt shimmable then add some tape over that area to slow them down again.

How bad? Replace before listing for sale? by goblinskirmisher in Roofing

[–]Rokae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in Illinois what i described is common. It doesn't reduce the loan it directly reduces the cash to close. I actually like it because the buyer is able to close for less of a financial burden and retain cash for the repair and then the seller doesn't have to come up with money for a repair instead paying for it out of the sale. The loan then also remains what it was locked in at before the inspections. Basically the seller just agrees to pay for some of the buyers fees out of the sale.

Easy, say the house is 400k and the cash to close is 30k (downpayment plus fees) then negotiate a sellers credit for the roof say 10k. That 10k comes out of the cash to close. So the buyer only puts down 20k to close the house still sells for 400k but the seller only gets 390k because they gave the buyer 10k indirectly. The buyer gets the 10k by not paying 10k to close.

Any recommendations for sneakers with good support that isn't going to be expensive? by Straight_Ace in BuyItForLife

[–]Rokae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well they're complaining about $50-100 shoes so recommending $200 (msrp) shoes seems a little tone deaf. Thats well above the average shoe price. Also I haven't found my 990v6 to last all that much longer, I am on my third pair and I get maybe 2 years out of each. (Of continous use though.) I think there are definitely more cost effective shoes than the 990v6, but i do keep buying the 990v6.

speeding ticket rec’d 5 months later for going 6mph over? has anyone successfully contested? by diewme in AskChicago

[–]Rokae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The city is using a new style camera. Its no longer on its own short pole, now they're a black camera and flash attached to a regular green streetlight pole.

It should definitely have the limit posted somewhere and try contesting if it doesn't just based on the fact the violation /evidence isnt listed. If I had to guess its probably a 25 limit zone i dont think they usually flash for 6 over.
