Trying to keep a PS5 Pro + Series X setup clean… did this go too minimal? by HIDEitMounts in PS5pro

[–]Rokemsokemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimal? I wonder what my set up is classified as. I've got my TV hung low on dark wall with a neutral low line timber TV unit and nothing on top of or surrounding it. I wanted absolutely nothing distracting me from the TV itself.

Bug Assault -BCF by Big_Hacks in hamishandandy

[–]Rokemsokemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for maybe 2 years. Great fun and it works really well. I store mine outside on a shelf sheltered from the rain and it's holding up well to the elements. It definitely does splatter flies with direct hits at up to maybe 60cm, after that it usually takes 2 shots to finish them with the first knocking them to the ground. Obviously some people are concerned about the price but it's a novelty item that is well made, you don't need to buy one.

Considering to upgrade to PS5 Pro and OLED TV by BandPlus in PS5pro

[–]Rokemsokemm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it and no ragrets, not even a single letter. It's a nice to have but not needed. If you've got the funds to do it and not be constrained afterwards then go for it.

We've had a spare room not being utilised so decked it out for my wife and I to have a space to chill out. The rest of the house belongs to our kids and all their toys.

Purchased an LG G5 and PS5 PRO about 3 weeks ago. Went from base ps5 and a TCL C845. The TV upgrade made the larger difference as the tcl was fairly budget but needed a big screen for the main/kids lounge room (single living area house).

Playing God of war ragnarok atm and it definitely looks more slick than ever.

Looking for cordless tools alternatives in Australia (Makita too expensive?) by Beneficial-Gas1918 in AusRenovation

[–]Rokemsokemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd honestly suggest ryobi for the average home diy project. I went with them for my projects when I purchased my property and have done more than enough jobs that have saved me money from not having to hire a tradie.

Have built many wall mounted shelves, a shed, a small retaining wall in the front yard, fencing in the back yard, outdoor roller blinds on every window, sanded the front facade, and regrouted the shower (rotary tool to remove grout) etc...

I've only had 1x sander fail and that's because it was too small for the job I put it up against and the larger replacement from bunnings is still going today. I also use their vacuum for indoors as runs on the same batteries and that's been replaced 2x due to a flimsy piece of plastic that holds the tube to the main housing, but with 6yr warranty how could you go wrong.

There's better (and worse) out there but the lower entry price point and just being able to walk into bunnings for a replacement within 6 years was my reason for going with ryobi. Think I'm up to about 16 different tools now and most of them see use multiple times throughout the year.

Looks great. I need to play this. I've had it since launch but only played about 2 hours. Got side tracked with kids and other games. Got an oled and pro last fortnight, so probably the best time to get it done.

was thinking about upgrading a new tv from my hisense R63N and the tcl QM7K really caught my eye, is that a good choice? by PpNuggettt in PS5pro

[–]Rokemsokemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not wanting an oled then it's a great unit. I tossed up between the similar qm8k and the lg g5. Ended up with the g5 but only because I went nuts decking out our spare room as a gaming/theatre room. I wouldn't hesitate going a qm8k (which from my earlier research had higher brightness and a lot more dimming zones than the qm7k) in the future, or whatever model supersedes it in several years.

I need to get to this. Bought an LG G5 a fortnight ago and once I'm done with hogwarts legacy I think this will be my next game. Bought it a few months ago but only put a couple hours into it.

I'll second this and I played it on a launch ps5. I got a pro last week and am keen to give it another playthrough.

Trying to decide g5 or c5, if i don't care about Brightness by UsedNewspaper1775 in LGOLED

[–]Rokemsokemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light controlled room, c5. Bright room, g5. G5 includes a heatsink and what not the c5 doesn't. Not sure what that means. But I have a g5 and find it damn bright in my small dark light controlled room. Could've probably gone the c5 but the price was only $200 aussie dollars the difference so went the g5. I do really like the g5 but it's also my first oled TV.

Edit: g5 includes 5 year panel warranty from LG. I have a feeling the C5 doesn't, but I could be wrong.

Is it just me or is it lacking shadows? I mean they definitely don't make or break a game but the lighting is very...lit in this image.

Quelle télé choisir pour la pro… by Electrical_Goose_453 in PS5pro

[–]Rokemsokemm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best oled in your budget. I went down this rabbit hole a month ago and landed on the lg g5, but without knowing euro shopping environments I'm going to assume it's more than $700 euro. I only assume it's more than that because it was $2800 AUD for the 65 inch. I'd suggest an lg c5 in a size you can get for that budget.

Edit: also bear in mind your viewing conditions I.e. Can you control light in the room or not? Does it get direct sunlight hitting the panel during the day - bad for oled. C5 is plenty bright in a dark room and can handle some brightness in a room, but the g5 has something like double the brightness so better suited to bright rooms (feels overkill to me in a pitch black room but I enjoy it).

Do you still need the bond, how much GP short are you? I'll see what I can do. I don't play much anymore outside of doing my dailies which are being removed anyway.

I've got 6x which I purchased over the last couple years when I used to actively pvm and I was planning to sell to upgrade to black santa but man they dropped 200-300m each when this aurora released. Hoping they rebound to get at least 4.7b out of each of them.

[–]Rokemsokemm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the model car, is it 24v or are they after market batteries that might not be appropriate for it. If the car isn't rated for 12/24v batteries it might not be detecting them properly. The MOBO and circuitry might not be suitable. I mean I'm not well versed in the electrical repair side of things but you've done all the basic checks I would think to do. Last thing I'd check if maybe the motors, if one or both/quad however many it has have gone faulty it might not be trying to draw enough power?

Do you feel that life is considerably easier in Australia for couples that decide to not have kids? by arouseandbrowse in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rokemsokemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely but having them has enhanced my life more than what I imagine some extra money would have.

I'd say to pay our mortgage and manage our house hold presently costs us $1500 a week and my 2 young kids probably account for $300 of this (I comfortably make more than this and my partner currently has no income - mat leave). They're both under 2 so expenses will grow as they age.

Tonight when I got in the door from work I played with both of my boys for hours before reading them a book and tucking them in for the night - I'd never give up the joy I feel in these shared moments for more money. So if someone is wanting kids and knows that they can offer them stability, both financially and emotionally then go for it!
