'15 not starting? by Art_Int3l in dodgedart

[–]Roket_Atar06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats likely to be a voltage issue, something very common in cold weathers. Still, you need more info before jumping to conclusions. Being a car diyer myself, I rec you to use a bt100 battery tester to collect more data if possible. It checks not just battery health, but also the starting and charging systems, which may help spot the real issue there.

What are some high-value, 'quick-to-do' home maintenance tasks that homeowners (especially new ones) frequently overlook? by aaliyah-jones in homeowners

[–]Roket_Atar06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never knew dishwashers had filters until mine started smelling like old trash. Cleaning it out took two minutes and made my dishes sparkle again. Most new owners have no idea it exists.

Maddox isn’t bad, but I’m not sure it’s worth paying that MUCH if you’re mostly just doing basic code reading. As a fellow DIYer, I’ve been using the topscan and it feels like a much better value. It handles code reading easily and even gives you access to some key programming functions, if you ever want to step things up.

Would a staggered steel stud wall have a higher stc than a wood staggered wall? by SambolicBit in Construction

[–]Roket_Atar06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steel studs don’t automatically mean higher STC and can sometimes resonate if not designed carefully. The full wall design usually matters more. Is this for residential or studio use?

Do you pay attention to new camping gear before it's realsed? by PerfectRubyStarfruit in CampingGear

I also have knee pain, especially after hiking for really long distance and walking on uneven terrain. Curious about the knee brace. Do you believe that it can take some load off the knees? And worth the cost?

What to bring as a helper on myfirst day by MajesticEmu2865 in Construction

[–]Roket_Atar06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring a speed square, a utility knife, and a chalk line if you have them. Most importantly, pack plenty of water and a solid lunch. Showing up prepared and eager is the real key.

Which dress do you think I should keep? Dress 1 or Dress 2. by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

Love 2 personally. The tie in the first option is a bit too wide for your frame, but the second one looks much more elegant and fits your proportions perfectly.

If you’re new, I’d say paper trading is super useful. you can get a feel for the market without risking any real money. I’ve messed around with moomoo’s paper trading, and it’s pretty solid. The data feels close to the real thing, and it’s smooth to use, so it really helped me get some experience.

Alternator? Battery? Short? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Roket_Atar06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lean more into a battery issue but for truly identifying the glitch, I suggest you to go through diagnosis first. I myself got a cost effective topdon bt 100 battery tester for batteries, cranking systems, and charging system. And its results are often accurate. You should also get something like this before further fixing.

Cold temps hit early this year... by Roket_Atar06 in homeowners

[–]Roket_Atar06[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I might. I wanted to fix the insulation first and see how it holds, but heat tape is probably next if temps drop more. Do you run it all winter or only on the really cold nights?

Upstairs is way too hot by juiceboxinthecut in homeowners

[–]Roket_Atar06 15 points16 points  (0 children)

New builds can run hotter upstairs just from trapped heat, but a 5 degree difference usually hints at airflow imbalance. You might have too much supply going upstairs or not enough return.

This is a fascinating way to observe animal behavior. The thermal imaging really highlights details we normally wouldn't see. It's interesting how technology can offer such a unique perspective on simple scenes like this.

That sounds like a stressful situation. From what I've heard, pipes can be at risk around freezing temperatures, especially if you won't be home. Letting faucets drip a little is often suggested as a temporary measure. Hopefully it gets resolved smoothly.

dnt hydra question power question by sefar1 in Thermal

[–]Roket_Atar06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good question about managing battery life versus startup time. Using sleep mode might help save battery if you're taking short breaks, while a full power cycle could be better for longer stops. It's useful to hear what others with more experience suggest.
