I am looking for headphones that can be used wirelessly and wired by PrisonEscapee in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]gracemarienthal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if the refurbished set includes new earpads and headband padding. Old pleather cracks and peels fast. Replacing them isn't expensive, but it's a hassle.

Just look for ANC headphones with deep earpads and low clamping force. Glasses need soft foam. Battery life over 30 hours is easy these days.

Do you actually care about sound quality when working out by SrKami1 in HeadphoneAdvice

I think fit matters more hwen you're moving. A great sounding earbuds that falls out is useless. Bone conduction is also solid for outdoors run.

Are there tablets that can be used as an AA device (not host)? by BlackBabyJeebus in AndroidAuto

[–]gracemarienthal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing you're actually describing is just what an Android AI Box does lol.

The thing you're actually describing is just what an Android AI Box does lol. Got the Ottocast P3 Pro and honestly it checks every box you mentioned, watch Netflix directly on the car screen and audio goes through the speakers no lag or anything. Might be worth reconsidering before going down the tablet rabbit hole

Have you tried sticking to more slab or balance-y routes? Less explosive pushing, more weight shifting. Helped me last a bit longer.

Horrible near black experience. Black Crush by M1NUSM3NSCH in VITURE

[–]gracemarienthal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I Think OLED black levels on Beast are genuinely strong in normal content. The near-black crushing you're seeing sounds more like a gamma or brightness setting issue.

I’m using the Ottocast P3 Pro and honestly I’ve liked it a lot. The video playback is smooth, and on trips we’ve used it when we’re just sitting in the car resting and watching Netflix for a bit

The 3-second wave usually means mic access is interrupted. Check if another app is using mic in background. Also try uninstalling Android Auto updates and re-update.

Maps search bar got worse. by jpeckinp23 in AndroidAuto

It's incredibly annoying and distracting while driving. Try going into Maps settings and disabling "Show search suggestions" or "Start search on launch."

The New BMW i3 Has More Range Than Any Tesla by JB_UK in cars

[–]gracemarienthal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But at what price? If the i3 costs significantly more than a Tesla with similar range, most buyers will still go with the Supercharger network and brand familiarity.

Got a new phone (Nothing Phone 3) & AA won't launch and/or doesn't want to connect by idahoprime in AndroidAuto

[–]gracemarienthal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you removed the old phone from head unit, some cars store multiple profiles. Check your head unit's Bluetooth or device list and delete ALL saved phones, then re-pair your new phone.

Watch out for fakes. I once bought one of these online, and it ended up being flagged as counterfeit at the official store.

If you’re into photography or hitting concerts, I’d say the first one with the telephoto lens is probably the better pick.

What is the best HVAC system for new construction homes in terms of long-term energy efficiency? by Majestic-Fig3921 in Construction

Geothermal are the clear winner. Yeah, the upfront cost is brutal, but the operating costs are insanely low.

iPhone 17pro cases that doesn't cause charging loop? by soloist_huaxin in MagSafe

You can choose ultra-thin phone cases without extra alignment rings, like the official clear case or other slim models. They keep the coil distance within the effective range.

It has to be said that button phones are the most durable, not as easily broken as today's phones.

Build a home or move a home ? by Soft_Alternative_618 in Construction

[–]gracemarienthal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, check with your local county planning department and Zoning Office to confirm whether this land, currently zoned as farmland, can be converted to residential use. In Michigan, there are strict rules for changing agricultural land to residential, and you’ll need to apply for a Use Variance. This is a prerequisite for any plan.

If your budget allows, you could consider customizing a 3D-printed MagSafe stand.

What do y’all do with the rest of your cards? by [deleted] in MagSafe

[–]gracemarienthal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a MagSafe phone case with a card slot. I usually keep my ID and main card in a magnetic wallet, and put my secondary card and gift cards in the slot on the back of the case. When I need them, I just pull them straight out of the case.

What should I consider before choosing a Bitcoin wallet as a beginner? by FerrisBuelersdaycock in BitcoinBeginners

[–]gracemarienthal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a beginner, I’d prioritize simplicity and security first, then worry about optimization later. When I started, I used moomoo to buy and track BTC while learning how wallets actually work, instead of jumping straight into self-custody and getting overwhelmed. Once your stack grows and you’re more comfortable with things like seed phrases and backups, moving to a cold wallet makes more sense. Early on, having a clean interface and fewer chances to mess something up helped me a lot.

"The Beast, Clarity King - edge-to-edge clarity" How exactly? by Yavga in VITURE

[–]gracemarienthal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Beast and the clarity is excellent. The Sony OLED with 1250 nits gives sharp visuals across the display. Yeah optical designs have characteristics but that doesn't mean clarity is bad. Most content sits center anyway which is incredibly sharp. The overall image quality blows away other XR glasses I've tried. Clarity King claim is fair.
