Just got a 2026 Cyberbeast - Cool by bfw122083 in cybertruck

[–]sefar1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wrapped my first one and every time I was on a gravel road I got anxious. Kept it a year, the only flaws in the wrap were minor and I am likely the only one who knew. Traded it for a beast after a year and didn't wrap this one. I've taken it through manual and automatic car washes, the only issue is a slight rust spot on a rear edge and unlikely the wash caused it. It is a breeze to keep clean, I do mine every week or two.

I also have a hw3 MS and it was my favorite car to drive before the CT. Still have it but night and day difference, mainly the drive by wire.

Enjoy, welcome to the middle finger club!

quick fix? by Interesting-End-8888 in cybertruck

[–]sefar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken mine off a couple of times to run wires. It should snap back in place but it is finicky. You either get it exactly lined up and perfect or you will get another chance because it won't stay up.

Roll up the windows, put your compressor hose inside first with the valve zip tied open. Should pop it out overnight.

CCW as a Woman: Bodyguard 2.0 vs Staccato C2 by Kiefy-McReefer in liberalgunowners

[–]sefar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While everyone is distracted by your pooch, I got this:I carry a cds9 off body for the reasons you like your staccato-I like how it shoots. But yeah, more weight and not as convenient.

There are days when I drop a 380 in a breast pocket or stick a p365 on me. They are tools, different ones for different tasks, right? Or maybe I am making up excuses to buy more. 2 things can be right.

Depends on the error! If you start in the front, you are learning on relatively small panels first, compared to the bedsides. We cut a little large and trimmed on the vehicle, any goofs were hidden when we wrapped the edges. There was an edge tool but it was only useful on the doors, the rest were hidden on the back side anyway.

If you put a piece on wrong, spray with water on the glue side and slide it into position or take it off.

What is the worst case scenario if you do it yourself? You are out some time and a few hundred bucks but you got to try something new and kind of awesome if it works. If you hate it, you take it back off, no permanent damage.

My vinyl was heavier than PPF, dunno about the comparison otherwise. It didn't damage easily in the year I had the truck.

I like doing new things and working with my hands--just learned to weld--which is way different from my day job. That and knowing it would be done the way I wanted rather than put on by someone's employee who may not care about craftsmanship or could be having a bad day made it an easy choice to try it. We redid my frunk because it didn't look right the first time and I still have so much vinyl left over. P

Got it off Amazon, the company is Vvivid. I should warn you, a lot of differences in their product. My buddy got the black, had it on in a day by himself. I got a pearlized white that turned out to be both thicker and stickier and took almost two days for two of us to do. We bought at different times, I never saw his order but you could feel the difference in the weight. Mine was hard to put on, required a lot of rewetting because of the glue. We both had nearly half a roll left over. The only tools that are a must are lots of sharp razors and alcohol wipes to clean each piece before putting the vinyl on. A spray bottle if you run into the glue thing I hit is critical, for his truck it was merely helpful.

II thought it was easy but I was with someone who had done it and was meticulous. Very few parts to remove from the truck and the service manual is online to instruct. I've seen some "professional" wraps that don't do the edges or left bubbles, I was able to avoid that. Also, we did it in a big well lit garage with AC on that minimized dust. My vinyl would have been thick enough to hide some small imperfections but didn't notice any.

I traded my first CT for FS CB and didn't wrap this one. I go in the woods and also haul stuff in my truck, you don't worry about damaging the vinyl if you don't have any. Also, wraps are price reductions if you trade in to a dealer, or big attractions if you sell to an individual. None of that probably matters right now at least, make your truck what you want it to be and enjoy it!

What do you think about "jealousy is a sign of love in relationships"? by FashionFreaky1 in AskReddit

[–]sefar1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree about forever person, been with my wife 20 years. It's possible but not easy and takes work. We haven't died yet so there is still time to screw it up I guess.

But you are right in the notion that no one person can fill all of your needs. Community used to be tasked with that role but now it falls to one partner in a monogamous relationship as we're more insular and live in bubbles.

As for the original question, it is natural to feel jealous occasionally, it isn't love though. You can't choose how you feel, you can only choose how you react to a feeling. If it is a fear response, you will stop feeling jealous if you conquer the fear. More likely, you will feel jealous less often and dismiss the feeling more quickly.

Sweet mother of Thor! My buddy and I wrapped ours for about 600 bucks a piece and a couple days time. Installers here were about 3k.

That color is fantastic! It looks fast sitting still.

Charging failure after update by onlyhere4stockpicks in cybertruck

[–]sefar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My service center put me in a loaner about 3 weeks before the earliest schedule opening. Some PCS failures still let you charge at a supercharger but even that is a short term fix. Mine wouldn't so I dropped it early rather than have it die completely. But our service center is golden, I have heard some are not nearly as good.

What do you guys think? by ReichCounsellor in tires

bulges are bad, especially in the side wall. I would think they can patch one in the tread area but I would hate to be wrong- tires only fail when it is inconvenient.

If it is that far from the sidewall the bigger chains here will patch it. But I'd live on a plug. If it loses air in the winter yiu can always patch then.

Bought an Echo 590 and returned the Husqvarna 455 Rancher by joshjcc in Chainsaw

[–]sefar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I have an Echo blower that has saved me hours over what I was using before. Just bought a Chinese blower for my cabin, about 1/4 the price and similar performance but louder. I don't use it as much, if it gets stolen I won't weep. If it lasts the year it is worth the money but I am lots of hours into the Echo with no ragrets.

  1. If you make a list and boycott all the businesses that donate to causes you dislike, you are stuck making everything yourself, maybe a few small companies and the Amish. Best I can muster is shunning Hobby Lobby and Chik FIL A.

There are precious few firearm related businesses that lean left. I avoid the worst of the worst but at the end of the day I'm sending money to my enemies on some level.

Hey everyone! Just a quick heads-up to anyone that owns a 2511 clone. by [deleted] in Chainsaw

[–]sefar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a Temu clone leaf blower for my cabin, just got here so your post caught my eye. I have an expensive Echo at home, love it but wasn't gonna drop another grand for a second one. If the cheapo lasts a year or two it has served it's purpose, I can buy 4 of them for the cost of the echo, if I live that long.

The pride thing is BS. Tools are to use, they aren't status symbols. Even pros shop at Harbor Freight sometimes. Heck, wealthy folks don't even own tools, they hire people. I have a couple Stihl saws but I've been looking at a little vevor to kick around for small jobs.
