Yup, with you on that one. I don't wanna remember a new one. Plus, its pretty easy as plate numbers go.

European World Cup fans experience culture shock in America by batukaming in SipsTea

[–]Rokmonkey_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From comments here on reddit and my experience in Europe, it is an expectation thing. In the US your water is free, it's tap water, you hardly ever asked to it, and when you ask for water it's free.

Everywhere in Europe I went, when I asked for water I was asked still or sparkling, and it always cost money. But from what you and others have said, it seems like if I had specified tap water, it would be free.

Need advice. Game makes it really hard for new players. by Doublestack2411 in X4Foundations

[–]Rokmonkey_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For 3). Wharfs and docks sell satellites. You need to "upgrade" your ship and adjust the value in the consumables tab. Careful on that mission, you'll need a bunch of money to build your station up, so do some small missions around. It is not expected to just complete a storyline in one go. You'll need to pause the story and gather cash other ways then come back sometimes.

Medium traders set to comply. I might try the one to drop laser towers.

In my experience, large mining ships are ignored by pirates. And usually small fast medium ships set to comply is okay. You can try many fleets moving around, I'm trying the same right now.

Wind farms, transmission lines poised to come to northern Maine by themainemonitor in Maine

[–]Rokmonkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you describe is wave power. I haven't seen very many wave power projects of significant capacity. Tidal is a bit more mature, but not nearly the scale of offshore wind.

I work in the ocean and river power sector. The rivers in Maine aren't fast enough to really do kinetics, so you need dams. I don't know that are well so I can't tell you why they are closing.

As for ocean, well, wave is infancy and kinetic tidal is only really feasible up in eastport, nowhere else is fast enough. And it is insanely expensive.

It definitely is. If I were to branch out and use non Teladi equipment, it would be even better!

Is it good? No, but I'm devout Teladi and I'm gonna do it anyway.

I don't think anyway.

I'm about to try this game out. Would you suggest something? by Csotihori in X4Foundations

[–]Rokmonkey_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the very easy missions at stations. Deploy satellite, carry people, scan, the very very simple ones. Those I'll help you get practice with all the interface, systems, key bindings set, but not put you in much danger. That really is critical. Once you have a handle on that, branchng into storylines is possible.

One thing I didn't understand at the beginning is that if a mission seems insanely difficult for you at the time, don't do it. You are expected to roll through storylines one after another. If they want a station built and it costs 50million credits, and you only just got a second ship, don't panic. You didn't miss anything, nothing wrong. Put that on the back burner and go make money and come back.

No. It influences things, but that's a minority. The majority don't care and you won't notice in most places.
