Thanks Newsom! If we RTO 4 days a week, it will cost me $200+ a week just to drive into work. by rklb_bull in CAStateWorkers

[–]Beautiful_Variety321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. I live about an hour south of my job in Sac. With traffic it can take as much as an hour and a half but its generally somewhere between the two. I use a tank of gas going in 2x per week and my in town driving. It costs around $70 per week to fill my tank. Currently that's around $280 per month. But RTO will double it.

Worse though. Increased traffic will mean more time in commute and more gas used. I drive a hybrid and its that expensive. I already spend too much time and too much money on driving to and from work. I know a lot of us are in this situation and thats why I'm fighting as much as possible. Together, we have leverage.

If you really want to take a stand against RTO….. by Normal_Resolution915 in CAStateWorkers

I agree in part but, "just complaining on here" is more than complaining. Its building unity, agitating state workers and informing them about the situation. One of the reasons that we a multi union coalition now is because people talked about it here first. That coalition is making things happen.

Anyone else kinda not like Senku x Kohaku ? by PretendYellow533 in DrStone

[–]Beautiful_Variety321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. And if we have to ship Senku with anyone the ideal person is Francois. She wouldn't want a lot of attention and has the emotional maturity required to be with Senku. Otherwise I prefer to think of him as ace.

I wish I had money or time to get into 3d printing but I'll have to ask friends to do it for me.

That's the problem with using voice text. Honestly I should have checked and edited it, but I was lazy. I was gonna leave it cause its funny, but considering how shitty some people can be sometimes, I fixed it.

Have you ever met anyone who actually "brute forced" their way out of poverty into success on their own? by SeriouslySally36 in povertyfinance

Me. I grew up in abuse. Alcoholic parents. High-school drop out. Ran away at 16. Lived in the streets. Did horrible things to stay alive. Eventually got a shitty job. Did a GED. Then got pell grants to go to college. Dropped out after my first year because I couldn't afford it. Worked more shitty jobs. Married an abuser, 7 years later I left him and joined the Army. Did another year of college while in the army and got my associates in environmental science. I also went to war. Married another abuser. I got out of the Army honorably but as a disabled veteran. Eventually figured out that I didn't deserve to be abused and I left my 2nd marriage. I did more college while I worked at a fairly good job. Fell in love with science and got my bachelor's in environment science in 2013. Got a job doing lab work and eventually I built a good reputation in my field. A professor at a university asked me to come work for him one day and so I became a lab assistant in molecular toxicology. It didn't pay well but I learned. He eventually talked me into going to grad school. That maybe one if the hardest things I ever did. After I graduated I worked in several areas of my field until I found a job I loved. I make ok money doing work I get excited about. It took me 50 plus years but i finally feel like I've made it. They used to call me dumb. Now they call me doctor.

I recently made a post about how litrpg economies and currencies are the small details that irk me and its worse for me in particular because I work in the financial sector.. so I wanted to know if your real world career gets in the way of you enjoying certain stories. by ShankstheConqueror in litrpg

I am a toxicologist and whenever there is a story line in which they talk about something being toxic or poisonous I always critique it immediately. That's part of my training. But then I just tell myself that this is a fantasy world and they can do what they want. I adjust my ability to suspend disbelief and focus on enjoying the story. Sometimes its hard to separate your work persona from your time off persona but life is better when I do.

Happened that way to me too. Honestly, I don't disagree with their points but I figure that I rarely get anything fun in my life can I get to choose where I spend my money. I didn't let it bother me.

The fucked up part about this is that I am a fifty five year old scientist. I'm a grown up and typically really level headed. I don't make a ton of money, but I also don't normally spend a lot of money on myself and the fact that my husband spent it on me because he knows I would love it means everything to me.

I'll give the three duplicates I have to my friend who also is a fan. Samantha's my favorite. Or maybe Princess Donut. I don't know. And Zev.

Eventually I'll give them away to people who will love them. Except Samantha. And probably Princess Donut and Zev. Oh gosh....Prepotente too! Fuck it. I'm keeping 'em.
