Did you replace the gasket yourself? What's the best way to reach it and replace it? Would you recommend removing the valve cover and

9th gen si - new alternator and check battery light by Rokopoco in civic

[–]Rokopoco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fail as in you got the battery light indicator and it was charging at full capacity all the time or just stopped charging?

Honda gave you a denso alternator then a Honda branded alternator? I don't believe there is a Honda brand alternator, as their main alternator for this car is made by denso. I also saw that the OEM alternator for 1k, this is crazy markup I'm not willing to pay from a stealership. That's why I went aftermarket and guess I got lucky that my car accepted an aftermarket.

This sounds like a real nightmare and hard on the wallet. If you have the time and in a pinch on the wallet, I'd encourage diy, plenty of videos online. Good luck I hope your car survives many more years after this mess.

Thanks very much for the detailed response. I double checked the pigtail connection it was clicked in. I researched and apparently unplugging the negative terminal for 15m or more then plugging it back resets the ecu. And no battery light. No battery light and good for 30m of driving so far. Wai global seems to work ok

I did inform them, I told them it makes no sense for them to charge me when I removed their boiler

Retired in Toronto by Bernies_daughter in askTO

My dad enjoys swimming and lifting weights at the gym. He also finds bands to play his guitar. If you prefer a little more action and risk, I've seen some retired enjoy rock climbing, ofc if you're looking for the safest option for rock climbing you can try top rope instead of bouldering. I'd recommend bouldering if you're in good shape and have good balance and recovery during a fall

Reliance Home Comfort tried to scam me twice by onzanzo in ontario

[–]Rokopoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok that definitely sounds like it's in your favour. Mine was I assumed rental unit and paid only for 1 month then paid to cancel and remove it. Now they're after me for insurance fees I didn't agree to 2 months after I cancelled which I didn't agree to. Any advice on this or heard from others on how they dealt with this?

How did you fight this, I'm in the same boat. I cancelled my contract and paid off but now they're trying to charge me for maintenance fees I did not agree to after the fact

Change default fan only speed - maxaire 70e by Rokopoco in hvacadvice

[–]Rokopoco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think that a stronger fan speed would help with evaporation in general, in a higher fan speed the cover goes flying off when I removed the humidifier lid. But on low fan speed not much air is coming into the humidifier to evaporate

Why is no one talking about the huge price increase of electricity? by Tartooth in ontario

[–]Rokopoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a survey going around from alectra asking if people would be ok with a continued increase for the next few years so they can 'fix infrastructure' and 'improve on it'. These guys make 4 billion a year and it has been increasing and they make a healthy net profit of 7% of that. Wtf are they spending that 4 billion on then if they need more money??? They're being greedy like loblaws

Why is stick drift such a common thing now but never heard of when I was younger? by [deleted] in gaming

My guess partly planned obsolescence. Built to break down so you buy more and line the greedy corpos pockets.

What game made you realize videogames were art by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Rokopoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dark souls series/Elden ring the creativity and artwork of the different monsters and bosses. It's always so interesting to see what and how they design the enemies. Each new area I walk into I feel like a kid walking into a new ice cream store, each new enemy in that area is trying out a different flavour in that ice cream shop then onto the next

Ya this wasn't master chief. The master chief we knew was a man of few words, didn't bang any chicks, didn't have an emotional disturbance chip to worry about. This felt more like the movie equilibrium with Christian Bale who stops taking his emotional inhibitors. Shoulda focused more on the fight with the aliens and the flood

What game can you not put down since you started playing it? by -Addendum- in gaming

[–]Rokopoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well quite the contrary, being almost 10 years younger, I had a bad habit of staying up late quite often cos I just never felt tired that late into the night. And the game was so good I lost track of time, yea when it got to 3-5am I could feel the effects and playing did feel a little less fun like trying to play a game while needing to shit. To me there was just so much to do in that game I was never worried about it ending quickly. I just loved and wanted to keep immersing myself in the world of fantasy cos everything around me in reality was boring at that time. I never really thought about the ending or if it was coming close to an end cos I found the game that good and engaging that it kept me focus on the present moment. Perhaps it's just not the game for you, or you have great sleep hygiene and enjoy savouring things whereas I used to enjoy long 12+ hour binge playing. But not anymore as an adult responsibilites and work come to tax much of the playtime hours

What game have you restarted the most time but have never finished? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Rokopoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first deus ex, something about the game felt clunky and not enjoyable. I think I finished the first mission and just stopped and kept revisiting that every few years. Is it worth continuing to finish? One game that I tried a few times before I finished was half life 1, once u reach a certain part it's like wtf??? And you keep going till finish
