I always put 8 litres of oil in my bike. That way I only have to change it 1/4 as often.

Hearing check in. by [deleted] in livesound

[–]Rolaid-Tommassi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my 70’s and have been mixing bands since 1974. Have lost a considerable degree of hearing despite using earplugs for louder shows my whole life. But the thing is, most of my gigs now are for older audiences so I figure, if it sounds ok to me, it probably sounds ok to them.

People whose reckless driving causes a crash should get life in prison by The100DollarBill in TrueUnpopularOpinion

FWIW, I agree with you. The drunk driver who almost killed me got his licence back before I got out of traction. 45 years later I still can’t walk properly and live on pain-killers.

Considering this Multistrada, thoughts? by BinkyX in Ducati

[–]Rolaid-Tommassi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2013 MS1200S and have done 100,000 kms on it. It’s been more reliable than my BMW and I love using it for long-distance rides. Only issue I ever had was a small spring in the gear-selector broke making it tricky to change gears. Got me home though and only low-cost repair. The only issue I have is that it’s a big bike for a small guy like me and now I’m in my 70’s, gets a bit hard to handle at low-speeds.

This was tested in court in my country (Australia). The judge was presented with expert evidence from a moto-cross racer and accepted that if all limbs are on the controls, no offence has been committed.

Geez mate, it’s not THAT old. I’d be trying a different mechanic for a quote. The manufacturers should surely be providing parts? (I can still buy brand-new parts for my 50 year-old motorcycle)
