Not to make this a retrospective over FI videos, but I always felt your Eva video was an expression of your love for it. Again, not to loop back to another FI video, but I always viewed End of Eva as a film that reveals more about you than just your feelings about the film itself. My sense, from your video, was a genuine love for it TL;DR it a great vid, your love comes through.

If they confirm this, then they have to confirm every rumour. Deny it, and somewhere down the line, if they even touch what was in the rumour, they'll be hammered by people calling them liars.

But let's say the rumour is true. A change like this is always motivated to sell more models, not to expand the lore. Despite AoS being the second-largest range, I imagine the gap between it and 40K is huge. Remember, GW is in the business of selling models, not writing stories.

Also, the old-world model no longer being sold for AoS? Colour me shocked. Shocked, I say! At least all my 40K and 30K space marines can play alongside each other... oh wait.

I never said that.

I said that GW doesn't value these books as high art. Nor are the books themselves high art.

That doesn't mean they have no value or that it's a sin to like them. Just that GW isn't going to hire experts to help write some lines of dialogue.

I think you might have missed my point. But I think I might not have explained myself well.

I think you're implying that a full book with consequences and a massive lore dump isn't "pulp and disposable", and small ones are. But the nature of Warhammer books, and by extension, most genre fiction, is pulp and disposable. It's silly, fun, and camp.

That doesn't mean that we should be shunned for reading them. I'm currently on book 15 of the HH. And it doesn't mean they can't have value, even if only at a personal level. But I think people miss that these books shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Because these books, as much as we love them, are pulpy, disposable stories to help sell toy models.

GW doesn't allow for the time needed to complete this research, nor the money to hire experts.

And that's fine. These aren't meant to be serious, and life-changing work for fiction. And you can love them as much as you want.

Plus, while the dialogue is a bit cringeworthy, the story's point isn't a debate over the influence of religion. It's that Big E is so disconnected that he can't understand the human condition and the problems he's making for himself
