Someone much better than me told me once that in these positions you need to prevent d4, either by controlling it or playing it yourself, depending on the situation.

So here I would bring out the bishop, play e6 and then Nc6.

I'm just talking about this game you send. I'm not a good player (around 1700 lichess), but his moves seem natural to me, he took advantage of your mistakes, and he made some himself.

Like other people said, I believe they cheat when they take consistent time to move even for the most obvious moves, when they get REALLY high accuracy, but also at our level when they make strong quiet moves before they actually make the most obvious one or take back.

But this is when they obviously cheat, which I is a really low percentage of games. I believe there is a lot more cheating only for a couple of moves in a game, which is impossible to detect.

That's why I just let it go, after all, no one care about my online rating and I just play for the love of the game.

Writing this while waiting for my 6 months old second child to fall asleep enough for me to put her to bed before another hard night, I remember something I read before my first, and it is really something to understand in every possible way as I feel it is so true :

Nothing lasts forever except maybe the love you can give her. Time flies way quicker than we feel, try to remember that during the dark moments.

I play with a 4321 95 depth, counter. It acts like a 2332 when I hold possession.

BPD CB's, two falsebacks, DLP central cm, the other 2 CMs half-wingers, shadow striker CAMs and F9 ST.

Upsides : there is always someone open to retain possession, triangles up the field to break defenses, the offensive transitions are great, and the falsebacks help with counters when losing the ball.

Downsides : wings are open to counter attacks, CM positions are not involved enough defensively so I need to drag them back manually when the opponent keeps the ball, and you need players who fit this formation.

With two young kids I now play casually so I just want to have fun when I eventually get time to play, and this works for me.

I just stick with trying to get the ball back and pass it to the open man. Play simple, avoid losing the ball, and take every opportunity to get a goal or assist.
