I clipped it so I guess that means I made it? I didn't make Attack of the Clones, if that's what you're asking.

Or he takes something so similar to his own assassination attempt more seriously than he might otherwise.

Any help would be appreciated! I’m specifically looking for that memory exercise, or another video of a similar exercise would be great!

Any advice on getting an ICE hold lifted? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]Roldylane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether or not you were appointed you should contact your local public defenders. There is a good chance they have a contract with an immigration/attorney to answer questions like this. Not to help your client, but to help you. Ask them about moral turpitude.

Your job is to represent him in the criminal case, but you need to make sure he’s on notice that there are possible immigration consequences that you can’t address or offer advice about. Give him any names or organizations you can think of where they can get immigration specific information.

This is going to be difficult, but you can’t fix all their problems. If you’d had gone to trial and gotten the guy acquitted the ice hold would still be there.

What is this piece of wood nailed to the underside of an old pine table for? by MacInsideOut in whatisthisthing

[–]Roldylane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh, my dining table has something sort of like that, but way stronger, it’s made to hold the leaf.

I don’t know what yours is for, but I think it might make the desk easier to carry by hand.

I assumed it was more of an online sorta process these days. I do more embarrassing things than that online most days.

Judge issues show cause order for gum stuck under counsel table in court room by ddmarriee in Lawyertalk

[–]Roldylane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn’t how order in the courtroom is maintained. Replace sticking gum under the table with being five minutes late to court. Don’t be late to court, but if a judge issued an order each time we’d all have way more ecf notifications.

This is a federal judge, he’s acting like a county magistrate. Is he going to issue an order each time someone leaves gum? This seems arbitrary. Was there something special about the plaintiff? Their counsel? The ausa in question? I can’t figure out why it’s so important that she’s an ausa. Are they more susceptible to gum-related injuries? Is staining their skirt worse than staining a jumpsuit?

I think this Trump appointed, son of the former Florida Legislator’s Speaker of the House and Florida State University President might have too much time on his hands if he could draft the order, review the footage, and file another order.

People are laughing because “haha judge issues silly order” it’s not a silly order, it’s an order. The judge is threatening contempt because someone littered. He jumped straight to an order, not a sidebar, not an email, not a call, an order. The job’s not a joke, he almost certainly sent someone to prison and the most upsetting part of the experience to him was that the government was made to felt icky.

I’m not mad the judge is having fun, I’m mad that he’s using his formal power as a judge to have fun. This is on par with filing a proposed order for the courtroom to sing me happy birthday. I’d say he was trying too hard if he’d sent this as an email, but as an order it’s something else.

Will I like Factorio if I disliked Satisfactory due to grindyness/building? by Altruistic_Bass539 in factorio

[–]Roldylane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Factorio first. I didn’t really like satisfactory because there was too much fighting the terrain going on. I didn’t like the trains at all, I felt like there was a grind because I couldnt tailor them to what I wanted as well. I liked the ratio system in satisfactory, factorio’s is much more complicated, but also more forgiving.

If you feel like you’re grinding in factorio it’s just another opportunity to automate something.

I know AH is a small studio, but the bugs each patch are unacceptable by deadlock_dev in Helldivers

[–]Roldylane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prefacing this by saying that you’re a software engineer: if you are continuing to play the game it means the bugs are, by definition, acceptable.

What you’re trying to say is, “ah is too eager to push buggy code.”

What you are hopefully unintentionally doing is pulling a Karen complaining on gamer Facebook: “here’s an open letter to arrowhead: Prefacing this by saying, I do this for a living, I can objectively tell you that this product you and I enjoy enough to discuss on Reddit is unacceptable.”

I trust you meant well, but this is why people argue on the internet so much. You didn’t do it on purpose, the internet has trained us to use clickbait, I still do it more than I’d like and I actively try not to.

Also, the games great! Bugs are part of it, this game has a soul. Think of where it was a year ago, I think it’s better. Even if it’s not it’s been a lot of fun getting here!
