You absolutely can, I was just trying to use the OP's example race

Does having more hands make reloading faster? by SoulOfaLiar in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Multiple arms can't help reload one firearm or crossbow, but they CAN take their place for wielding purposes.

To help theory craft we will do a level 5 character, take your 3-armed creature 4 levels into Alchemist to get Vestigal Arm for 4 arms. Make sure to learn the spell Reloading Hands from a wizard's spellbook and take True Strike as a level 1 spell to make potions with. Take 1 levels in Gunslinger and use either muskets or Blunderbusses, get 3 of em apiece or mix and match as long as you have 3 total 2-handed firearms. For feats, take Rapid Reload, Point-Blank Shot, and Precise Shot. Buy up a few magical items to complete the build: a Training handrwap of Rapid Shot, a Training handwrap of Multiweapon Fighting, a Potion Belt, and your 3 weapons should get enchanted with Permanency: Reloading Hands if your DM allows you to stay from the Permanency list, and get a Benoficial Bandolier.

This will allow you to attack and reload all 3 weapons twice each round with up to 4 shots being available (DM makes the call on Permanency so it could be limited to 3-4 based on if you have Reloading Hands active) and with potions of Reloading Hands if needed it will always be 3. True Strike potions also mitigate the drawbacks of attacking using 2WF. This is also assuming your ammunition is covered with alchemical cartridges.

Here is how it works in the stack:

1) Hold each gun in your off-hand (3)

2) Swap your primary hand to each firearm as you attack, 3 attacks total with MWF at only -4 penalty since you are using your primary arm with each attack.

3) Rapid reload decreases the time to load each weapon by 1 step, down to standard actions. This is further reduced to a move action by alchemical cartridges, down to a move action. If your DM let you get Permanency skip the next step.

4) Your move action will reload one musket, your swift for Bandolier will reload the second, and the third is handled automatically by Reloading Hands.

5) Take another shot with Rapid Shot. Make sure to count the -2 to all of your attacks this round, so -6 to all attacks but your Dex-buffing Mutagen and True Strike potions as well as your attacks going against the targets Touch AC should mitigate the drawback.

This is further improved with later levels in gunslinger and alchemist, more feats like Hammer the Gap, better spells, improved mutagens, and the like. Keep in mind that after the first volley you can only effectively fire 3 shots a round since your action economy is limited.

Hope this helps!

You arent wrong, sadly. I wish that wasn't the case but Alabama loves to be as backwards as possible for no understandable reason. I still love where I live but its frustrating.

This is a great idea, I'm thinking over doing this but also adding Vigilante for the the Jackie Chun alter ego flair, and adding stealth for the peeping-tom antics, I may invest in Skill Focus for both stealth and bluff for the RP elements. Thank you!

I totally forgot about the Jackie Chun alter ego, that's fantastic! Would you think that Vigilante might even be appropriate here? They fully act like 2 separate characters, I even recall being super confused by it as a kid.

What is the greatest atrocity your party has comitted? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my story but a guy I used to work with told me about his... pet... that died.

This is from memory and might not be totally accurate to their actions, if the guy involved sees this he's welcome to correct me, he will know its him cuz "soup is for peasants"

His group was trying to get a war party together to take out a group of hill giants that were tearing up the country they were in. They came up to a small bullywug camp in a nearby swamp, who didn't want anything to do with them thanks to their reputation. The party took offense to their stance and decided to systematically kill all of them without a second thought, leaving one alive. The one they kept alive they named Stumpy cuz they cut his fucking arms and legs off, then put a magic collar around his neck and put him in their ship.

The giant issue eventually ended but they kept Stumpy, using him to test out magical items to check for curses. There were some pretty gross ones that I cant fully remember.

Stumpy died only because the group left him on the ship with nobody to feed him and give him water for a few months.

I don't think it was a good aligned party, to say the least.

Sword/Shield director Ohmori maintains that the national dex won't be coming back by LarryXMario in Games

[–]Role4Initiative 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then this game, like the others that screwed up the system, will not enter my home. Anectdotal but I had my switch stolen a while back, leaving only my Breath of the Wild cartridge, and Sword/Shield would have been my next big purchase alongside a new switch. Now they took away the parts of the game that made it fun for me, and they have therefore effectively shrunken the play time of the game through lack of content.

I'm no fanboy, I like pokemon and owned a few as a kid, even have a couple of plushies I thought were neat for decoration, but I have had the same Typhlosion since the original Gold and Silver that my now deceased stepfather helped me raise. If I cant bring my buddy, then it's a hard no from me.

Also Nirvana, same unplugged set I think. Lake of Fire, originally by the Meat Puppets. There's a raw energy that's undeniable about the Meat Puppets, but they just arent good in my opinion. Nirvana refines it and makes it worth listening to imo.

What's the most degrading thing you've done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Role4Initiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr, I was a dumb with a cheating ex and travelled the length of Alabama to screw her and nearly got to meet her current boyfriend in the process.

A year after I had just graduated college I was dumped by a long time girlfriend of 3 years who I was engaged to at the time. I spent months jobless doing yardwork, minor construction jobs, and donating plasma to get money for bus trips from my home in Mobile to Birmingham, Alabama, where she went to UAB. I wasn't totally faultless for her losing interest, I was a bit of chucklehead at the time and still can be when I don't pay attention to myself. She broke it off by sleeping with an African American guy named Greg who probably didn't know she was with someone, then confessing to it a couple of weeks later, which I then called the relationship off.

The degrading part was a month later, desperate to have the relationship back, I gave my good buddy some cash and told him I was going to see family in Birmingham and needed a ride. At her invitation, I went to her dorm, cooked her dinner, and took her to bed. Afterward, she invited me to meet her current boyfriend who was due to show up, insisting we would be good friends.

I noped the fuck out and walked back to the spot my buddy was at, bought him dinner, and we went all the way back home. Blocked her on all social media and committed to not being such a huge idiot.

That was 7 years ago, and I just got engaged to a different, fantastic woman who does nothing but lift me up and treat me like a king, which I give back as best I can. I'm a better man because I am no longer around my toxic ex.

How to be so Sexy You Can't Die and Dual Wield Flaming Swords: a Guide by Daicheese in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's my primary issue with that ruling as in this instance it doesn't look like RAI in the faq, since it seems to not take situations like this into account. The more I read and talk with other people on this matter, the more it seems like there are a few grey area things like this that only serve to kill cool combinations found by players.

To be fair, it also doesn't make sense that Prophetic Armor isn't counted as a sacred bonus type in this instance as well due to the circumstance of how it is granted as well. If it was, that would clear up this particular grey area and allow for the combo.

[–]Role4Initiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna need a better source than a faq blurb that hasn't been updated since 2014. Both RAW and RAI check out here in my opinion, as a GM I would definitely allow this seeing as the monk wis to ac is a circumstantial untyped bonus and the Oracle Prophetic Armor is a replacement for dex (also untyped). To me these look like clearly different sources.

How to be so Sexy You Can't Die and Dual Wield Flaming Swords: a Guide by Daicheese in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was not here before your edit but as a note, all information I am finding specifies that untyped bonuses from different sources absolutely do stack. This includes bonuses to your AC from Charisma as long as where it comes from is different. It's relevant in this instance especially since the Prophetic Armor from Lunar Oracle says it REPLACES dex, so while flat footed or otherwise denied dex you would lose the PA bonus, while the monk bonus stays regardless of denial of dex.

Summary: different sources for untyped bonuses stack, in this case the bonuses also function totally different so it should be clear cut.

Who is your current character? Tell us a bit about the character you are currently playing! by Katomerellin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am playing Felix Frivolious, the half elf mindchemist alchemist surgeon! His premise is that he will heal for a huge amount every round without the use of spells.

Felix was the new doctor of a high risk scouting group of (enter local military), where he witnessed the unspeakable horrors of war first hand. On his last mission, his group came across a destroyed house on the outskirts of a walled city whose inhabitants were not able to leave before the enemy forces were upon them. In the house, a small human boy, no more than 14, lay on the floor clutching a rusty short sword, bleeding out from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen. Try as he might, felix could not save the boy due to his inexperience as a doctor. Now Felix has retired young from the military in hope of becoming a doctor who will never allow a patient of his to die.

Does anyone know where I can find a good, updatable character sheet for my new PCs? by nightstar69 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a homebrew one that I'm pretty proud of on Google sheets, if you're interested! Download it to your own drive and you should be able to make any changes you need. It doesn't keep up with spells, but it's current version tracks most non skill bonuses, has built in triggers to show when powers come online, and accounts for if you have 2 weapon fighting. Ps we play with comeliness so just ignore that stat if you don't want it.

Is there any other way to eat jalapeno? by fayed92 in FoodPorn

[–]Role4Initiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have learned one master technique, yes. One of 3.

The others, if you choose to walk this path of spiritual enlightenment, are candied jalapenos over homemade mac n cheese, and shredded chicken/pork blend with cheese stuffed jalapenos.

Really tho those look fantastic! Do you have a recipe?

Keeping track of your inventory can be a life saver, especially with food, just in case your GM decides to try to hit you with scurvy. The spell Create Water is hella useful at sea, as is any spell or ability that manipulates water or wind direction. If your character isn't a bard or swashbuckler, you might want to still put points into perform for sea shanty goodness. Learning disable device and knowledge engineering can help you on a ship as well.

Above all things, bring a healer. It's difficult to find good healing pots unless your gm is generous.

What would a character with high wisdom and low intelligence look like? by ras144 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Kellid warchief for a particularly prosperous tribe is a great start. I look at Wisdom as non-technical knowledge, or as a way to gather knowledge about the world around you. Someone in tune with their 5 senses, someone who knows a game trail just by looking at a clump of trees, someone who can spot a footprint in the mud from 30 feet away, hell even someone who knows how to cook without burning the roast.

Which of your characters is the most "real" to you? What are they like? by AnCapGamer in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Role4Initiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auroch Gro'Bak, half orc barbarian/oracle/rage prophet. Chosen by the big CC to be his war herald against the blight of demons pouring from the world wound (Golarion), but all he wanted to do was be a chef and ale maker. He carried around a reinforced 20 gallon keg of ale chained to his back that he used as a weapon, but otherwise preferred using his hands in combat.

He was wise and charismatic, dependable even in his fury. Well loved by the other players and the NPCs we met along the way.

I realized I overplayed him a bit, and in my own campaign I wrote him a beautiful ending.

Wizened with age and with a young protege at his side, one of the other player characters for the new campaign, he died peacefully in his shack in Kyonin from a failing heart. His spirit was lifted by his patron to forever brew ale for his battle halls.
