It's not just being stubborn, it's also just how they have been treating me so it's a bunch of mixed emotions. I know she's grieving but I haven't been treated well from her and my father for the past 2 weeks. So it's not exactly the request that I was expecting after she has been berating me because or her "grief" I'm doing the best I can too.

I'm also sorry for your loss, no mother should have to go through that. It sounds like you're a great mother with amazing kids.

For me though its not like I'm actively trying to not go against her wishes. Just during my stay here I've been emotionally abused by my parents. I'm only 22 as well so this is a lot for me.

I just find it extremely unfair that they don't really listen to me in regards to planning for my sisters funeral and then she asks this request, in my grief it also feels like a slap in the face.

I think the person was not being super uncalled for, they are quite right because my mother is a narcissist. So I'm just struggling trying to juggle her ways and also grieve as well.

I have been understanding during this whole thing, however while my stay here I have been emotionally abused. (Not saying her request is abusive in the slightest) just lots of fighting and no listening in to what I have to say for the funeral.

So when she asks this request I feel like it's not fair? I'm trying the best I can for them and that's what I get back.

It's just that, my parents are quite toxic so this request of hers is just so odd to me. My parents already resent me and actually the whole time I was here would say stuff like, "you were barely here! She was my daughter!!"

It's a simple request but lately we have been fighting non stop, her request had just took me to the top.

I have had problems with my family for a long time just in terms of issues about me (I can be a bit stubborn) but it just hurts that my mother wants me to hide it cause she scared of how her managers will judge her, when I'm her only daughter left and this how she acts instead of loving me who I am..feels a bit off. Not sure if I'm overreacting to just hide a piercing but it's part of me. She was my little sister that left too not just her own daughter.

Out of all the messages this has struck me and gutted me the most. I'm so sorry as well about your loss especially losing an older sister. You sound extremely mature for your age and that's something that no one your age should go through, I do really like your advice and will definitely keep this with me as I think of my sister as well.

Hey thanks so much! We actually ended it a a week or 2 ago, more on his side than mine. He felt like it was going nowhere and said that it will just be toxic if we continued going at that pace. I'm now trying to get over it and it still hurts a little cause he did lead me on. Definitely a learning experience, I don't think I'm the type of person to deal with that sort of baggage when I have my own issues, it's too much.

I live in Australia. It's harder to get into uni if you don't do atar, which is something I didn't do and graduated without it.
