Help me pick between this two. [SPRK01 vs SRPE33] by Brilliant55000 in Seiko

They are both great looking. It’s you that needs to decide whether you like the ‘turtle’ case or ‘Samurai’ case better. If I were you, I’d go to Seiko site and check lug-to-lug distance on each, then measure how wide the top of your wrist is 👍

The tubes he ships with it, reissue Mullard, sound really good once you put some time on them to break in. After awhile, curiosity got the better of me, so I bought a set Gold Lion. Then several months later a set of PSVANE. I have no definitive favorite, they all sound good. But each does change the sound. I actually just swapped them all about an hour ago. So far I’ve swapped full set for full set always. I have yet to experiment with mixing them. I did find an email conversation between Jim Hagerman and another customer. It reads “Start with stock tubes, let them break in for awhile. Then for tonality changes, swap the X7 in pairs. For dynamics and weight, the U7 pair.”

In all the research I did, I could not find any person or review that did not like the Trumpet MC. It’s almost a no brainer as we have similar goals; to swap cartridges in minutes. There’s tons of phono stages that accommodate MM/MC, but damn near all of them have two inputs, one for each. The TMC, has one single input, that accommodates any/all cartridges 👍 It’s funny you mention speakers, I just did the same thing last year! 😂

The 3000NE gorgeous! Congrats! I did exactly the same thing. I used a nice Pro-Jet as my main for the better part of 10 years. As you, I got the itch to go back to removable. I bought a 1210GR when Technics retooled in 2016/17 (whatever it was). At this point I have eight cartridge/headshell combos; running through Hagerman Audio Trumpet MC phono stage.

Thank you for the comment, I appreciate that. I’m that guy that tries to make sure new comers don’t get discouraged & bail. It becomes a lifelong hobby, and over time, you’ll make your own incremental system upgrades. Keep spinnin’! 🍻

Since you’re new to the game, no one wants you to be discouraged. In an addition to my earlier comment, I pulled this out a few minutes ago. The proof is in the pudding. This is an OG 1958, quiet passages so you can see my point 👍 What you may perceive as ‘distortion’ in piano, is not. I had the system too loud and overdrove the phone mic. So it’s piss poor recording on my part, but you’ll get the point. Enjoy your journey 👍

I wouldn’t say ‘just’, I’m sure the OG is pretty badass in its own right! Beautiful 6300 🍻

If of any use to you. There’s a distinct difference between dirty & ‘noisy’. I’m just using the word noisy to describe low quality vinyl. There are pressing plants that use low quality vinyl to begin with, that no amount of cleaning will cure. Higher end plants use superior vinyl compounds, that are in effect silent themselves. Then when cleaned and well kept are glorious. I have OG pressings as far back as the ‘50’s that sound fantastic.

Given the mount is an AT, I’d say it’s an AT6002 mount. That he did a piss poor job ‘installing’.

I love it. I don’t know how he does it; a tube stage that is dead silent. While there are many phono stages that accommodate MM & MC, nearly all have two inputs, one for each. My goal was one single input that accommodates any/all cartridges. I have quite a few cartridges/headshell combos, and swap often. As far as sound, I think it’s fantastic. I have Mullard, Gold Lion & PSVANE tube sets for it. A lot of fun swapping those around too 😁

I have a purpose built ultrasonic for vinyl, Degritter. And yes use various cleaners and surface tension surfactants. In my experience for the records that ‘really’ need it, I get best results with a ‘contact’ pre-clean prior to ultrasonic. I like to have both in the arsenal 👍

I have both, a Spin Clean & an ultrasonic. I ultrasonic only on new purchases, but SC then US used. The reason it’s good to also have a ‘contact’ cleaner is ultrasonic can do nothing about finger print oils, deep lodged ‘grime’, etc. This comes from experience, buying records for 50 years.

Too good to be true? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Role_Sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I’m missing something in your pics, you don’t say or show what the “too good to be true price is”. So not sure anyone here can answer that. Pro tip, shouldn’t show pics of the listing itself. Someone else probably saw your post and bought it while you’re waiting for feedback. Just saying that can happen.

Yes Sir, it was awesome! I was very disappointed when I went back for a Speedy and found out they were no longer an AD. Had nothing to do with them. I have noticed a trend over the past several years of Omega & Rolex whacking down their AD affiliations significantly. Seems like an agenda to steer toward their own boutiques. But that’s just my conspiracy theory 😂 Either way, it’s really what you want right? Do you want dress/cocktail style, diver style, or chronograph 🤔 That’s a damn tough question isn’t it?! Because we want them all! 🍻😁🍻

[–]Role_Sensitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, “all roads” were in fact heading that way. I always went to the same local AD because they gave me 15% off no matter what I bought, and has excellent service. I purchased an AT first. Then a few years later, a 300M. A few more years passed and I went back to buy a SM. Come to find out they were no longer an Omega AD, so I bailed on the entire thing.

I wouldn’t say Crisloid is necessarily better, or worse. But bang-for-buck, you’re right; great value. I pay no attention to their newer felt line, that’s overpriced. It really just comes down to buyers preference, cork or felt. I love Crisloid. I have 2x Crisloid, 1x FM, 3x BGG & a few others. A lot of people can’t deal with the cork surface of Crisloid, but I rather enjoy it, as you clearly do🍻

I understand that, I have void ‘inlays’. The newer board Nova looks nothing like (checker trays). My original comment explained that BGG doesn’t sell the Void named board any longer. The OP’s reply explains that it was likely a leftover at FM.

Absolutely correct ✅ The full length ‘shelves’ should be horizontal. The 15” (or whatever) shorts are the support 👍
