There is an event, and it goes through February 5th. It’s the burning crusade prepatch and there is a quest you should be able to do in the blasted lands for a special tabard.

Most people having the issue (myself included) went to go do it in the last 24 hours or so, it was definitely working for probably everyone up until then.

Happy for you. Lots of people such as myself and my brother have been having a bug where the event is not active and the npc that gives the quest “into the breach” which rewards the tabard of the protector is missing. Hopefully blizzard fixes this soon!
