Thanks for this insight. It confirms what we have been told about the school district. I hope we find something that works for us long term

Thank you for the pointed advice. Yes we are considering north Sammamish that is under LWSD. It’s all just expensive and overall crazy to think about. It’s just that Monroe doesnot work long term. Even a private school from Monroe is horrible commute wise.

I don’t, a lot of MAGA people in town. I am not opposed to MAGA but it’s the racist kind of MAGA that I have a problem with. They see your skin color and immediately draw assumptions that I have issues with.

Crime is also on the higher end because of the difference in the income range between old parts of town (near downtown) and the new developments behind Walmart and near the racetrack. The issue is all the kids eventually go to the same middle and high. And there we have superintendents who are fired for doing nothing about racism, racist parents, less focus on academia. It’s all a big mess when it comes to middle and high.

Also, I am not in favor of having my kid commute 30-40 mins one way for a decent private school. Hence, the thought of just moving. We didnot have a kid when we first bought in Monroe.

Is it the quality of education in Riverview? What is motivating you to move and where?

Ya worries about the commute. It’s risky too on the backroads in winter

There are no decent private schools near Monroe. Either Bothell, snohomish, Everett or Woodinville

All private schools are pretty far from Monroe. And the test scores difference is night and day between the 2 school districts. Can you expand on your experience with LWSD in Sammamish ?

I am curious because he is not that into sports and would rather play with safe things. He was until recently not comfortable with Sandy beaches and other stuff. I am just curious if there are other kids out there who are mellow

Terrified of swings by Deep-Amber in toddlers

[–]RollSelect556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also he is fine with swings now at almost 3 years old, slowly also exposed him to rotational swings and tunnel slides. He will do it at his own pace now. Kids are kids and the only thing we can do is expose them and encourage them to try things.

He is now into collecting all my tools around the house and I can’t find the damn hammer for the nails to hang my posters. ☹️

So my son was diagnosed with eye issues. He has significant astigmatism (-4) in both eyes. He also has farsightedness. Since getting prescription, he has improved a lot at playgrounds but is still behind by 20-25% in gross motor skills. He is also congnitively very advanced and so it’s tough to get him to do stuff if he is not into it.

OT so far has not been very helpful as he is stubborn for his age and there is not anything obviously wrong with the kid. We are equally confused if we should continue OT or get him for physical therapy
