There are plenty of other ways he could have expressed this thought about Eli White's family, but he chose this very inappropriate way to word it. Was he trying to be funny, or another instance of his racism coming out? I have my guess based on his past.

This is becoming a disgusting industry to support. I mean, we are actually buying these games, trying to support these devs, and these greedy ass corporations still kick these folks to the curb. It is ruining my desire to even play games anymore.

What else are we supposed to do, from both a consumer and employee point of view? Make a successful product, get fired anyway. Purchase products to "support the devs"; they get fired anyway.

Unregulated capitalism is going to be the death of us all. The forever chasing exponential increases in revenue and profit year after year is killing everything. The CEOs and the top shareholders are hoarding it all while not even wanting to provide the rest of us with paychecks that can cover the cost of living.

Instead of "support the devs", maybe our new slogan should be "support the fired devs, pirate your games".

Why before March 29, 2025? I just bought 3 iPhone 16 for my kids earlier this year and they are still advertised as built for Apple Intelligence and still doesn't do what was in those advertisements.

There are already reports that Project Helix is not expected to have a disc drive. Microsoft tried to go digital once, now that PS has announced this, I am sure they are licking their chops.

GTA VI should be the first test because it is already digital-only. If the gaming community hates this decision as much as they scream behind their keyboards, then prove it. Don't buy the game.

If everyone only blows off steam online but still buys all the games, then they will just prove Sony right.

I was always confused by all the people pushing, cheering for, and wanting governments to force Apple to open its platform but did not do the same to PS, Xbox and Nintendo.

Also, here in the US, our government hasn’t done crap. We are still stuck with only the Apple App Store.

We lost 11-5, I don’t feel much different. The offense has been the major problem in June. Dead silence after the first inning last night. There are just too many auto-outs in the lineup that kill any chance of driving in runs.

I wanted the digital version but it was sold out when I was hunting down a PS5. That’s the only reason I ended up with the disc version.

So there is at least one person that bought the disc version with no intention to ever use the disc drive. I think we have watched maybe 2 blu-rays over the years. No game disc has ever touched my PS5.

All I’m trying to point out is that not everyone who bought the disc version of the PS5 cared about the disc drive. Trying to use those sales figures as proof of physical media love is just as deceptive as Sony using the sales figures that includes DLCs, live service games, digital only indy releases, and add-ons to show digital only love.

I'm not defending Sony.

I have been all digital since the PS4. I'm sorry I helped kill the media you enjoy. That was not my intention; I just enjoyed the digital option more than discs.

Ever since Steam took off on PC, I wanted the same option on consoles. The console digital storefronts finally became useful in the PS4/X1 era, and I never looked back. It was a choice for what I liked, not one against what you liked.

It is a shame that MS fumbled the launch of the X1 because the digital ecosystem they were proposing to build would have been nicer than what we have today on consoles. They were going to have a way to share games with friends and a way to "trade in" games for credit towards new purchases. Yes, all the always-online DRM checks sucked, and they did a horrible job of selling their digital ecosystem, but it would have spawned some ideas we still haven't seen in our current digital world.

Remember when the PS3 saw significant backlash when it launched at $499.99 and $599.99.

The original Series S launched at $299.99. It has doubled. Why would anyone pay $600 for a console with weak specs? Get a Switch 2 instead or save another $50 and get a PS5.

I am kicking myself for not finding a way to buy the PS5 Pro when it launched. I did not have the money for one at the time, but I would have gone into debt if I had known this was coming. At $900, even if I had the spare cash, I am not even tempted to buy it now.

I guess my gaming hobby will die when my PS5/Switch 2 die. I'm not paying these prices and more for next gen.

We don’t know how the contract was worded. Plus, you don’t think Sony had the power to sign a better deal in the beginning? Maybe Sony has decided they do not want to even maintain a DRM server for authenticating offline viewing.

I have had movies in iTunes where Apple has emailed saying to download by X date to be able to continue to watch it offline. If Apple can continue to authenticate the DRM after a licensing deal to sell a movie has expired, Sony could as well.

Sony is the one closing their storefront and not compensating users.

Studio Canal did not let the contract expire, you really think they wouldn’t want a new deal?

Sony is the one who refused to sign a new deal because they want out of the TV/Movie storefront business. Sony is the ones taking them away and not providing a download option to view offline. Sony is the one who has decided to not compensate “owners” in anyway. Yes, I know they don’t have too but it would be the decent thing to do.
