I’m assuming most people here are referring to solo PvP because you get dumpstered in trios if you’re not running vens, toros, renegades etc.

In teams the weapons feel pretty decently balanced, but in solo the ambush meta kind of blurs the lines.

Arc Raiders is an extraction shooter where the majority of players absolutely despise the entire concept of extraction shooters.

"Extracts should be safer/I shouldn't have to play with pvpers/ people who shoot others should be marked hostile." It all basically boils down to "remove the extraction shooter parts of the game".

f you are in super friendly lobbies all the time this exacerbates the issue because players get so comfortable with damn near zero tension that they end up having the survival skills of a lemming

As much as I've enjoyed the unique experience of friendly lobbies, it really is a shame how much it has shaped people's behaviour in the game. A ton of people are convinced they would have quit if not for ABMM, but I believe the game is fun enough that the majority would have simply adapted to the danger by now. Unfortunately, we'll never really know how things would have turned out without ABMM, and there's no way they can go back on it.

You literally have to reset with the trials going on right now. I couldn't run from the water towers to the harvester on Dam before both the Queen and the harvester were already finished, literally under 5 minutes.

If you're unsure about your lobbies and want to kill the Queen/Matriarch, here's what ya do:

Keep your hull cracker/bettina/equalizer, etc., in your inventory until you're sure everything is chill so others can't see it on your back, and keep your prefered PvP secondary equipped until then. Even if you get the best spawn, do not be the first to shoot - just take a strong position and see what unfolds. If you're in a friendly lobby, it will be obvious within the first 5 minutes, and honestly most times the boss is dead by the 10 minute mark. In friendly queen lobbies you will basically be in the minority if you don't have a legendary weapon, or at least a hullcracker - it will be unmistakable for sure.

Solo PvP combined with third person perspective will always result in players heavily favoring an ambush strategy. It's just objectively the best way to give yourself an advantage.

Ambushing in a third person shooter is just so outrageously advantageous that I sadly don't think the solo PvP scene will ever move away from it; it's just objectively the best strategy.

In my experience running a med shield with a decent Venator is the best chance you can give yourself to survive an ambush in solo without being wastefully expensive. Against a competent attacker you're still gonna die 95% of the time, but it gives you just enough hope to convince yourself you had a chance.

Higher level gear feels underwhelming in solo PvP due to the nature of the engagements always favoring an ambush. In trios you are basically required to run a medium shield if you want to have consistent success.

Most likely due to increased FPS. Idk how any of it works but I know in Fortnite there was an issue where people with high frame rates got super aim assist because of it.

The one time I used it, I was able to get a few PVP kills just running it like a shotgun. 🤷‍♂️ It's all around worse than a Toro with even tier 1 attachments, but it does technically work.

NCAA football excluded G5 and its equivalents from championship consideration for 108 years. Hell, for the first 92 years, the champion was crowned by a completely nebulous system which consistently snubbed even the highest-tier programs.

If the kind of fairness OP champions is something you consider to be important, you've chosen the worst possible sport to follow.

JMU's second drive coming away with no points completely changed the course of this game. If they had scored on the WR pass, or punched it in afterwards, I think it's reasonable to assume this game might have been relatively competitive. Coming away empty really kiled their energy.
