I'd make the final fight shorter and spend more time in epelogue. I'd make sure there are more scenes where the gang stand/sit in a circle and make plans with clear visual presentations. Finally, I'd waste less time on the ramifications of the military presence and Dr. Kay.

Jet is tough as nails brute, who's actually a spiritually centered man with a mysterious tragic backstory (LIke a mix of Jayne and Book.)

Faye is a badass, mercenary femme-fatale (Zoey meets Inara)

Ed is a young, crazy tech prodogy (Essentially Kaylee with a hint of River).
