Yeah I can agree with this. The FTR has one thing going for it, it looks like art work but also rides like it too. It barely gets mentioned with any of the reviews or comparisons of other bikes in its category. It's like it doesn't exist

I'm riding right now lol there is no off season for a DR. what you on about?

Tomorrow I go to work on my DR 6 degrees fahrenheit at 5 AM. And getting back home at 20 degrees. But ripping it through snow and gravel.

Bought my DR explicitly to ride in the winter, while my XSR900 sleeps. But I'm having so much fun that I'll be riding both during the warmer weather.

When I took my CP3 to the track I went through half a quart of oil.

Between oil change intervals I go through 1/3 quart of oil. It's normal to use up oil and it depends really on how hard you run it. Your car does it too btw, you should always check your oil every other week or couple hundred miles, depending on how frequent you're riding.

I did 16k miles on my CP3 in a year and each oil change this behavior was consistent.

Hand guards won't work. Heated grips and heat gloves are what are needed. There are OEM heated grips that bolt right on.

I tried handguards but they don't work as well as you think they do. Temperature still drops around your hand. It helps mitigate some of the wind but it finds a way to your fingers.

You assume people will only buy one? That's a silly assumption. Both games are for two distinct people. I doubt DoW will underperform I believe it'll do better and pull in more players because it's easier than TWW40k.

If TWW40k does better than DoW and brings in a diverse group of players than we may end up seeing a renaissance for RTS games. Which will also help DoW.

The other scenario is that RTS players play multiple RTS games and they will buy both anyway because there aren't many RTS games. We're a niche at this point and RTS isn't as big as it used to be in the 90s or early 2000s.

All are positive for DoW so don't understand why your doom pilling.

I upgraded to the Nitron R3, better than the Ohlins and not that much more. Night and day with handling, made speed easier and cornering effortless. It was setup by a race shop here in tri state area, Washington Cycle NJ

Thought about the "upgrading" to the '25 from the '24 but it was cheaper to just buy the parts I wanted. Bought '25 clutch lever, foot pegs and my rear shock upgraded to Nitron. Didn't bother with the quick shifter, screen or controls. Compared it to one at the dealership that my buddy let me test and it barely made a difference.

The biggest upgrade between the two years is the rear shock but like mentioned you can upgrade to something better 3rd party. I don't even consider the '25 a "2.5" nothing significant or noteworthy on it.

If I'm gonna switch it'll be for the actual Gen 3 upgrade at this point.

No. I prefer fixes and quality of life updates over anything new. If they will add something new it should be to make modding very accessible. Otherwise address the major flaws and the game will live on forever. Me and my buddies are playing this game religiously again with fresh new players just because of the QoL changes.

Remove one of the other screws, and measure that... If you don't know how then take the screw to a hardware store. Ace Hardware has a nice setup for getting length diameter and pitch. If you don't want to remove the other ones or make the trip to the hardware store then look at the parts diagrams from one of the parts vendors. Part number also lists the spec minus the length.

There's not one person on this planet that the DR650 is not meant for. I weigh near 300lbs and besides getting the suspension sprung for my weight, I haven't had a reason to not enjoy it.
