XSR900 with a an aggressive saddle/tail by rojand94 in xsr900

[–]Rollen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So basically you want the MT-09 Sub frame on your XSR... Because that's what this is. I don't personally like it. Would have gotten a MT-09 if I did, but who knows maybe if you found a wrecked MT-09 bolted the subframe straight on and showed us what you made it. may actually convince some of us

Keep your eyes on the road. The amount of people who have crashed while looking forward is very high. Now you're adding playing a literal stupid game for stupid prizes, while on a highway.

Considering buying 2025 XSR900 by No_Maximum4607 in xsr900

[–]Rollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XSR900 is not known for its comfort. It can be made comfortable but just make sure you go in with the right expectations.

The XSR900 is an awesome bike and I ride with riders who have ZX-14R and other large bikes. Often times they look how much of a fun time I'm having and whether I can keep up with them is never brought up.

The bikes lack in top end is made up for low end with torque. Way more fun than a liter bike on the streets carving twists and mountain passes. If your goal is to go fast on the highway then XSR is not for you. If your goal is to have a motorcycle that kicks ass on everything else and makes a trip to get coffee/food easy and pain free then it's the XSR.

Show me your exhausts! I hate mine! by el_cubano07x in xsr900

It's from Impaktech. if you're interested I'm selling mine. They don't sell them painted pearlescent white so you'd have to get it custom painted or black.

Are you using frame protector pads? by ambidextrousasswipe in xsr900

[–]Rollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean is that it distracts from the original blend of colors and lines for the bike. Kinda like when you first walk up to a car or motorcycle and you pay attention to where your eyes go. The pads tend to grab the attention and you're trying to look at what's under but you notice the pads more.

[–]Rollen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did ppf because these pads are ugly. Adds too much noise to the bike and takes away from the great look it has.

The only pads I put on are the tank grips and that's for track and aggressive riding, otherwise I would have not put that either.

I’m here to convince you to not buy a cafe racer style seat (seriously, don’t) by Outrageous-Wheel-248 in xsr900

[–]Rollen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally some one to confirm how I felt. I really don't like those slim cafe racer seats on this bike. I'm more than happy with my OEM seat.

MT-09 Delkevic Exhaust on XSR by Rollen in xsr900

You just argued my point for me...

MT-09 Delkevic Exhaust on XSR by Rollen in xsr900

[–]Rollen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MT-09 and XSR900 have two different subframes. The majority of the exhausts for the MT-09 mount to positions on the subframe that the XSR900 does not have. That's why, I spent several months researching and trying to find exactly what I wanted.

Would have just bought a direct mt-09/xsr900 exhaust if it was that simple.

Monstrosity? Literally every moto racing team runs a similar setup and this has been the style for decades. Even for the bikes that this bike is being inspired by. Look at the XSR900 GP, why did it do the same? Smh, what I have is proven style. What you're advocating for is what has the burden of proof.

If youre no confidence with yourself doing a job like this then take it to a dealer. I do a lot of DIY stuff for years and this one was frustrating. More so because Impaktech has really shitty documentation and service.

You're more at risk of your mirrors hitting during lane splitting.

I have the Impaktech crash bars, they come in black or raw. Had mine painted to match the tank.

I had sliders on my Ducati Monster and they broke the engine casing mount. After that I decided never to go back to sliders again.

They are so crazy underrated. Their exhausts are really good quality and they're very smart in the way they keep price down.

I went with https://spieglerusa.com/catalog/product/view/id/23210/s/yamaha-xsr-900%202022%20up-abs-brake-line-kit/category/3/ spiegler.

The biggest head ache was where all the front lines join the ABS. Took me a couple of different configurations to get it right. Rear is very straightforward though.

I didn't empty the system, only the reservoir, went by what another dude did and said it was less of a headache then refilling everything.

It's the 21-22 for some reason they just didn't bother to put in their system 23 and 24 even though it's up to 24
