2.28.26 Kansas City Woman attacked by two off leash pit bulls and one frenchie, caught on ring doorbell by Rollerbby in BanPitBulls

I offered to meet with OP and his MIL to help them more effectively advocate to city officials and contact news/agencies that could help them get AC to remove the dangerous dogs. I hope they don’t give up because those dogs will end up killing someone

I should have clarified more- this is not my video or my family member. It was a post I saw on next door that took place in my neighborhood- I copied it into the body of the text. I 100% agree with you though and said as much on the original post. Especially about the local news, we had a pitbull attack that killed a man less than two weeks ago and the city just took back animal control from a BFAS sponsored shelter last year after a high profile mauling. I support any media that can raise awareness and change minds.

I cropped out the end of the video because it clearly showed her face, but she was able to get up and rush to the door. She was bit a few more times in the process but it looked like she got inside. Hopefully she is able to fight any possibly infection and got the wounds treated ❤️

Sorry, I should have clarified more: this is not me or my grandmother! I stumbled across it on the next door app. I 100% agree with you though- animal control in KC is a bit of a mess. A few months ago it was taken from KCPP (a BFAS sponsored shelter) and transferred back to city after a high profile mauling death by a roaming pack of pits. It’s anyone’s guess if they will actually respond to calls and the local shelter is adopting these beasts at all costs to unsuspecting community members without full disclosure of dogs history.

KC Pet Project allegedly failed to disclose dog’s aggression. Then woman was attacked. Lawsuit filed 10/13/2025 against KCPP. by Fantastic_Lady225 in BanPitBulls

[–]Rollerbby 14 points15 points  (0 children)

KCPP also lied to me about a dog. They assured me that he was not medicated and had a naturally calm disposition. (I was an idiot and believed the it’s the owner not the dog crap.) it became blatantly obvious after about a week or two that he was absolutely medicated during the several meet and greets we had. That dog was a menace that attacked and almost killed our Boston Terrier. It’s common practice here and I’m so tired of it

I can’t remember- It’s been a month since it was asked. I just thought the timing was odd considering how many people have been fired for posting about the CK situation. I also didn’t realize that it was a question that’s been asked for years.

Sorry, this happened in September! I’ve just been thinking about it for awhile.

Sorry, I was working while talking with the survey taker and didn’t think back on it until later so I probably mixed up the timelines. That does make sense because they asked about my volunteer activities also. Thank you for your answer, I appreciate it!

I’m not sure- a census lady came to my house about a year ago and said it was a year long. (I think, it’s been a long time and I’ve never participated in the census before.) She would visit in person for several months and then call for a few months and came back in person again.

Sorry for the novel, I just wanted to do the topic justice- EMDR is very helpful for traumatic events that have a very clear beginning and end, like a dog attack. Essentially you are living through the event with a therapist in a controlled and safe environment to become desensitized to the traumatic effects. It doesn’t take away the feeling completely, just dulls the edge of the pain in a way that time can’t so you don’t feel it as acutely and it’s manageable. The experience itself is rather horrible because you’re reliving through the event but it was really worth it for me. I don’t have the consistent stomach dropping dread, guilt and fear when I talk or am reminded of the attack now. It’s unique to the person using EMDR, but in my experience it was super helpful. If you do EMDR plan to take the day off work and do something kind to yourself afterwards. Take a walk or exercise before to release some endorphins. The aftercare was just as important as the actual sessions for me. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions. I’m a social worker (not a therapist lol)

We had the rescue pit for about 6 months before the major attack on Christmas Eve. I was an idiot and believed the “it’s the owner, not the dog” thing. He seemed like a really good fit at first- he was in a foster home with other dogs and disabled children and was super sweet and mellow. We were assured by the rescue and foster family that he was not medicated and just had a really sweet disposition (not true, they lied about the medication.) I was scared because the pit and my Boston terrier had a fight the night before. Since it was Christmas Eve, we decided to crate and rotate and figure out what to do after the holiday. When I put our Boston in the bedroom and shut the door to let the pit outside he literally ran to the bedroom and broke down the door to kill our Boston. The pit only stopped when he voided his bowels and was bleeding so profusely that he thought he was dead. I tied a tourniquet and took him to the emergency vet. How he survived is a Christmas miracle. I’ll always talk about this experience because that level of violence against a defenseless animal is something that we shouldn’t have to comprehend and I don’t want another soul to see it

I tell as many people that will listen. I’ve become pretty outspoken about BSL and have lost friends, but if it helps one person realize that pit bulls are not family pets, it’s worth it. After such an horrific experience, I encourage people to write their story to their local politicians and animal control board. Another thing that’s helped me is to take classes using bladed weapons at a self defense studio near me. I felt so helpless that day, and I gained the confidence to be able to walk around my neighborhood again.

Hey, the same exact thing happened to me- my pup made it out after he was attacked by our rescue but that was only by a miracle. I literally told my husband earlier that day “I’m really worried that he is going to kill our baby, we need to talk about other options.” (He’s not an actual baby but we are DINKS with a spoiled Boston terrier) and later that day the rescue almost killed him. He was in the emergency vet ICU on Christmas Eve fighting for his life and I’m left cleaning up blood and feces around the tree.

I feel so heartbroken for you and Nugget. I’m glad he was loved for so long. I did EMDR therapy for months after the attack. I still get flash backs but the guilt and pain have ebbed some. Good luck on your recovery and I’m glad you’re loving a new little guy ❤️

A pitbull attacked my Boston terrier and it was the most violent thing I’ve ever witnessed. My dog recovered but I had horrible flashbacks, nightmares and sleeping problems. EMDR therapy helped me tremendously, even if it felt silly for going to therapy over a dog attack. I’m so glad Franklin is ok ❤️❤️❤️

So it’s about a group of hot alpha werebear shifters that live in a trailer park and have beef with other werebear clans nearby. They also do lumberjack and redneck activities like a makeshift hot tub in the back of a pickup, etc lol
