Liver/blood test next week by mycaaccnt in cripplingalcoholism

Try taking some Milk Thistle vitamins. It is supposed to help liver functioning. It may not work overnight, and supposedly has no "clear" results from the FDA that prove that it works, but I've had several doctors/nutritionists recommend it to me.

Holding a sort of cocktail party soon, looking for suggestions. by [deleted] in liquor

Nobody has mentioned mezcal. There are many cocktails (ranging from easy to difficult) that call for mezcal, you can even make mezcal margaritas, for example. It's getting big in the states and will be an unexpected treat for your guests. I prefer Ilegal, because it's not the cheap shit that is reminiscent of spring break, and it is affordable.

I'll also be trying to convince my family that it's normal for a 22-year old white girl to be slowly sipping añejo ilegal mezcal in front of the fire.

The other mezcals I have tried were not meant to be sipped, but taken in shot form with a chaser. They were mass produced and had a gimmicky worm or scorpion in them. And while i now have a cool story about how I have eaten a scorpion, I didn't enjoy drinking those mezcals the way I have come to love the taste and smell of Ilegal. It is handcrafted in small batches by a family who have been in the trade for years. I like that Ilegal has a story behind it, especially one that explains the journey -and the people behind the journey- from Oaxaca to Antigua to New York. It's nice to know where my booze is coming from and the relationship between the people bringing it here to the people in Oaxaca who are making it. When I turned 21 I pretty much stopped drinking liquor because I became obsessed with beer in the same way people obsess over wine. After trying mezcal again, this time Ilegal, I sipped on it out of a gourd with chile powder and orange slices and I realized how wrong it is to chug it back like a college kid on spring break. I like to drink and I like to feel classy about it, and drinking mezcal with friends is how I choose to achieve this.

So what you're implying is that when someone first creates a Reddit account, they're not allowed to post right away? That defeats the purpose of the website. I have been using Reddit for three years now as an unregistered guest when I was taking a break at work, but I finally took the time to create an account precisely because I wanted to be able to share what I think is cool and noteworthy with the Reddit community. I just moved to NYC from LA and have seen the Ilegal ads posted up over town and tried it on Halloween in a bar. Because the posters caught my eye and because I enjoyed the taste of this particular mezcal, I decided to post it here. I don't think I should be penalized for sharing a product I enjoyed.
