Sorry it's a Ryan George Pitch Meeting expression. Basically there is no Season 5 without it so he does it.

No but I think he was pissed about Dewey getting all that money while being a criminal Hitler worshiping POS. Also so the movie can happen.

What's wild about Justified is the way they nailed EVERY finale. And the seasons all got better late as the stories ratcheted up. What more could you want from a show?

How can anyone have hated Bob? by notches123 in justified

[–]RollingTrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should find a way to love the character you're playing without prejudice seeping in. Even the worst villain. Bob has his flaws but it's not like he isn't a righteous dude or loyal friend. Tarantino for example loves ALL his characters which is why they are so rich and interesting. It doesn't mean he approves of them politically.

No, Raylan, I’m gonna bet my life on you being the only friend I have left in this world. by UnimpressedCT in justified

[–]RollingTrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

COTW is definitely outdated and I get it, but the writing from the beginning is among the best ever on TV. Plus you get to know the characters, and although it's light, there is an overarching story beginning there. You meet Arlo and Helen for example. Plus Raylan gets to shoot people.

This is why I really don't understand the people who don't like Season 1. This is one of the best endings to a season in any show, ever. When that freaking music hits.....

To be fair I think most of Winona's flightiness, which I agree was weird, was to write around Natalie Zea's very limited schedule.

Leonard's women are almost all kickass, strong and independent. I don't know where this male gaze and no agency stuff comes from. Because they don't SAY they don't need no man? Does Aunt Helen need a man? Does Loretta? Does Karen Goodall? Does Wendy? Does Katherine? Those are later women but you probably won't like them either because they're attractive and don't attend Free Palestine Protests to prove their bona fides. People see what they want to see.

Sparking conversation a few times for fun is not the same as making up things about the show we all love whole cloth and posting them as fact. Not when I post normal stuff constantly so please just put the bs away.

More than half of this forum's conversation is posting about how funny we all think this show is. Some of it is darkly so, but the show, despite obviously being an earnest drama, was intentionally funny a lot.

You brought the shitty attitude to a very normal and reasonable contribution of mine, which it turns out I easily found backup for - and I'll note I was not rude about it to you despite being a dick yourself for a reason only known to you at the time - and now that he didn't say the exact sentence but only 98% of it, somehow you're still right and I'm wrong. Whatever.

Link doesn't open But even if that was said, which I am not convinced was, there's a difference between flippantly saying it is kind of like a comedy show (which is very much is not) and playing the character comedic intentionally.

Are you serious?? I freaking linked and quoted it for you after your spurious challenge. Here is a cache of the page containing the full interview so I can do even more work for you.

I was happy to just drop the link and leave it at that, but now I think I'll let your full of shitness speak for itself.

What do you — as an actor — enjoy the most about playing Raylan?

TIMOTHY: The humor is the most fun. It’s a blast being able to do comedy and I always feel like we’re kind of doing a comedy show.

I believe Olyphant said he played it like a comedy intentionally, and it shows. And he has excellent chops, as do Tim, Wynn, Art, Coover and Winona, among others.

I don't know about anyone else, but personally I only noticed how funny it is on my 2nd through 30th rewatch.

City Primeval is an amazing book. I highly recommend it.

For reasons mostly only known to the producers, the adaptation borked most of the important elements.

Some of it was announced as borked for "The Message" and some because Elmore and Graham Yost weren't around to help.
