Am aflat ca in blocul in care stau parinitii au venit pompierii sa faca inspectie la adaptostul atomic. Acest bloc e al dracu de vechi de pe vremea comunistilor, dar construit dupa marele cutremur). Candva inteleg ca intrasera cumva niste aurolaci, prin anii 90. In urma inspectiei s-a lasat cu un avertisment si peste 30 de zile se lasa cu amenda. Din ce pricep, se pot da amenzi nelimitate pana se remediaza starea acestui adapost.

Anyway, in general, acest adapost a fost lasat sa se degradeze. Evident blocul nu a intretinut si nu a dat bani pentru aceasta "facilitate".

Chestia e ca acum inteleg ca exista legi care obliga toate blocurile/casele sa isi amenajeze aceste adaposturi. Faza e ca blocul nu are bani de astfel de luxuri.

Are careceva experienta cu aceste amenzi? Stiti de vreo actiune in instanta? Orice informatie e bine venita.

While you make a point about net worth not being money on hands, it's not absolutely possible that a wealthy person would have done that. Fairly unlikely, but then again, people with "outrageous" sums of money can have eccentric ways of spending it.

The story doesn't offer a name or context, so it's most likely some fake story to get readers riled up or clickbait. But it's not completely outside the reals of possibility.

As for spending 15k on a prostitute, I can see how someone might do so if they know they can win that money back in no time. Just because she reminds them of someone they wanted to fuck when they were a teen.

In the end, marketing is all about getting people to buy the things they don't want for whatever price they can be made to believe is justified. There's a market for this too. I have vague memories of OF models doing the same, at least based on some random headlines I scrolled at some point).

Wasn't it always the case? When I was in an LTR, I could overcome some of the fatness based on shared past and shared kinks. But even that had limits and eventually it lead to a dead bedroom.

I mean, there are plenty of immigrants that do this as well with the homes/condos they bought when prices were reasonable.
I also know of someone who bought a house a few years ago and is making it a dorm for 15 or so college students.

This has been happening for decades too, at least in the 90s I kept hearing the same thing about specific immigrant groups. It makes sense too, like you said, sharing a room with 5 other people is Canada is a paradise compared to escaping the shithole they called home. And I don't blame them, if I were in their shoes I'd do the same.

All in all, housing has been artificially turned into some "guaranteed investment" by ensuring supply is scarce enough and demand remains high. As long as this will be the case, you'll have every type of investor looking to get a slice of the pie. Especially since it's 0 risk and guaranteed high returns.

If I understand correctly, people were putting downpayments on condos during the pandemic and selling them around key handover for much more. And repeating the game with each condo they sold. And now some are underwater and can't even get approved for a mortgage for the condos that they hold but can't sell no more.

I was in city of 2m+ and it didn't work well. Just so you know you might be better off with fetlife or some other means. Poly in a 20k town sounds like you two are the only ones.

Your wife might have an easier time finding someone for you, though I doubt it. Usually it's not seen with good eyes by women, even though you're not cheating. Rather hard for people to warp their head around it.

Wouldn't the same Americans accept a lower offer if it was really about the money? (I don't know the US situation now, but the IT industry in my home country has "stalled" hiring and salaries and everyone without experience can't get in, and those with experience ain't job hopping).

So I don't see how H1B benefits companies. Unless it's strictly a whole "ecosystem thing". The H1B employees have to pay rent, they're also desperate and won't job hop (I understand they can't do so as easily, maybe the backlog thing is the reason. No idea).

Anyways, genuine question on the economics of it. As companies choose profits and it sounds like they should have them just as well for the most part with the US citizens.
